Chapter 1
Azula was walking along talking to Admiral Jau of the Fire Nation. She had become quite hotheaded ever since her brother had snuck off with the Avatar and escaped from capture.
"That was a foolish mistake, Azula," Jau was saying. " You were outnumbered. Besides, there were not just firebenders around. There was a waterbender, an airbender, and an earthbender there too. Need me to help?"
"Quiet Jau, I heard something!" snapped Azula.
It had sounded like a rush of leaves. Azula decided to investigate.
She was greeted with a few hot coals and a great blast of fire. A girl of about twelve years of age was looking maliciously at her. Azula noticed that her eyes were cloudy. Blindness. The girl started to run. Azula pelted after her furiously. The girl was fast, but Azula had longer legs and had the gift of sight. Azula finally grabbed the girl. As they passed a small grove of trees, a boy caught sight of them. He yelled out, "No, Toph!"
A few weak air blasts were thrown at her. This is the Avatar realised Azula. If this is the best he can do, he is pathetic.
She continued quickly holding the kicking girl.
Aang went back to camp with bad news—that Toph had been kidnapped by a teenaged Fire Nation princess.
When he got back to camp, he broke the bad news.
Katara was frantic. "We need to find her."
