*HUGE SPOILER FOR HTTYD 3: THE HIDDEN WORLD! DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED!*

Hello everyone! Thank you all so much for even considering to read my story! It means so much LOL!

Before you read my story, I would like you guys to know that I am a huge HTTYD fangirl! I love every movie so much that all three have tied for first place on my all time favorite movies list! Out of the three, I can't pick which one I like best!

This is my first HTTYD fanfiction and I was very excited to write this! Also, my writing involves lots of descriptions, just warning you LOL! :)

Okay, so those who have seen the HTTYD 3 movie already, you know that at the ending, the dragons and humans separated for years (Dragons at the Hidden World), and at the end of the story (when Hiccup and Astrid decide to take their children to meet Toothless and reunite), we see an older Hiccup and Astrid and their adorable son and daughter! We also see Toothless and the Light Fury and...three little Night Fury/Light Fury offsprings called Night Lights!

This one-shot (although its a little long), is around the same guidelines as the movies ending, so the setting, characters, some dialogue, actions, and plot belongs to Dreamworks, not me.

Although: I created this one shot to expand on the meeting and reuniting of the Night Lights, Toothless, the Light Fury, and Hiccup and Astrid's children, so that means that I added lots of description of the events for this scene, I added dialogue (most of it my own), and (the main focus) was my imagination of how they actually met the Night Lights, because in the movie it does not actually show Hiccup naming the hatchlings "Night Lights" and it does not show anything about them meeting them or anything about why Stormfly showed up...So I hope that you guys will like my one shot (which is mainly a Night Lights fanfiction)!

A few more things so I do not get flamed in the reviews:

1. I do not know the actual genders of the Night Lights! I just assumed the gender of each one (don't get mad at me). I compared pictures of each Night Light to the Light Fury's features and Toothless's features to see if there were any distinguishable male/female attributes to the species (or somewhat off species as the Light and Night Furies are not actually the same, just closely related according to ME and MY personal OPINION).

I found the white one with green eyes to be a boy. Although it is white, it doesn't automatically assume it would be a girl, and I say this because of the fact that the Light Furies are not the same as the Night Fury (according to me and MY personal opinion), this could mean that white Light Furies could also be boys. I based the gender of this Night Light off of wing shape, tail fin shape and eye color (green). I know that eye color is not determined by gender, but I just went off from Toothless having green and the Light Fury having blue, and yes, I could be 100% wrong, but again, I only think this white one is a boy based on my personal OPINION and the fact it just looked like a boy to me.

I thought that the mainly black one (green eyes) with a white underside starting on the belly was a boy. I said this because of the eye color again, the tail, the wings, and the eight ear shaped stubs on its head (same number as Toothless).

The last one, mainly black with a white underside that started from the mouth, had blue eyes and had a white nose, I thought, was a girl. I thought this because of the wings, tail, cloaking ability, eye color (because the Light Fury also has blue), the ear stubs. I feel that this one had more of a feminine look to it.

But hey! These are just my personal opinions and if you want to imagine these dragons as a different gender then I have written, please, be my guest! Who's to say who's, right or wrong? There is nothing specifying the gender/names of them (as of right now this day at least).

2. In the ending flying scene with the Night Light's being featured flying alongside their parents, I am 96.9% sure that the one who shot a plasma blast and disappeared through it was the mainly black one with green eyes, but for the storyline I went for in this one shot, I said that it was the mainly black, blue-eyed, white-nosed one. Please don't be mad? :)

Wow! That was a long authors note! Anyways, without any other time wasted reading notes from the author, let's get to reading this one-shot! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing it (and believe me I had fun writing it!)!

Be sure to review at the end! Thanks, dragon lovers! :)

Together Once More

Hiccup stood at the front of the large Viking ship alone, staring ahead nervously, awaiting something in the foggy place ahead of him.

"Hiccup, are we there yet?" Astrid called out gently, causing him to turn around and face her.

In front of him, he saw his beautiful wife Astrid and his two children—his young daughter Zephyr, and young son Nuffink.

"Yes, we're here," said Hiccup, smiling at her as she brought the Viking ship to a stop.

"Papa?" asked Zephyr, Hiccup's daughter. "Where are we going again?"

She looked around eight, seven maybe, for she wasn't the tallest child, only barely reaching half the height of her father. She had brilliant blue eyes, closely similar to Astrid's, red hair, just as her grandfather Stoick, but it was pulled back into a feminine traditional Viking hairstyle with her own little flair of bangs, covering her forehead.

"Well...We are going to see an old friend," Hiccup responded to his curious daughter.

"Do we know them?" said another younger voice, belonging to Hiccup's son Nuffink.

The little boy couldn't have been over six years old, for he was shorter than his older sister. His hair was light blonde, inheriting that gene from Astrid. Although, his eyes were green, almost identical to his father's.

"Your father and I do," Astrid spoke up, answering the question before jokingly saying, "But it's a surprise so no more questions!"

Hiccup turned away to face the fog once again, waiting for something nervously.

Within a matter of minutes, Hiccup, staring off in the distance, saw a creature come into view above the black jagged rocks surrounded by fog.

He must have heard us, thought Hiccup, now glaring at the creature he thought he recognized to see if it was really him.

The creature, a dragon, climbed over the rock more than twenty feet away, coming clearer into view for Hiccup. He was jet black all over, and the only other color visible from the far distance and fog was a bright green, the color of the dragon's eyes.

"Toothless," Hiccup said silently to himself before trying to get a closer look at him, as his family slowly approached his side.

Hiccup focused his eyes at the dragon, noticing he had not moved and was glaring at them in the ship.

"Is that a...dragon?" The little girl gasped but still keeping her eyes locked on the dragon seemingly lost in the fog.

Toothless, in the distant fog, turned away from his stare at the humans, looked over his wing at his side at the Light Fury who had popped out from behind the jagged rock, soon followed by three small dragons.

"Dragon's," Hiccup corrected with a smile.

Their smiles slowly faded away as Toothless, far away on the jagged rocks, glided sharply and fastly towards them, landing on the wooden bowsprit of the Viking ship.

Hiccup's children, now terrified at the sight of a large "scary" dragon, ran behind their mother, clutching onto her as hard as possible, scared of the creature in front of them on the bowsprit of the ship.

Toothless stayed on the same spot on the ship, shifting his stance to be able to securely stand, and his sharp claws scratching the wood, leaving indents and marks with ever motion of his sharp claws he made.

Hiccup stood in front of Toothless, cautioning carefully, trying to not startle him. Hiccup looked back behind him at Astrid and his cowering children, a worried look on his face, and an even more frightened one on Astrid's.

Hiccup turned back to Toothless, cautioning his arm out in front of him, but only earning a snarle and a full face of angry teeth from Toothless.

"Hey," Hiccup said steadily and slowly to Toothless, not trying to engage him the wrong idea of danger. "Hey there bud."

Hiccup looked up to Toothless with a slightly kind smile, even though he was nervous about what he thought was happening: He didn't remember him.

Toothless's green eyes were wide at Hiccup, staring at him up and down. It had felt like forever since Hiccup had seen Toothless's eyes up close, except it wasn't the kind soft eyes he once remembered. Toothless's pupils were razor thin and when Hiccup looked into them, he only saw fear, caution, and something else he couldn't recognize on the spot. It was like his best friend was a whole other being that he did not recognize.

Toothless focused his eyes on Hiccup, the Night Fury still shifting alertly in his spot.

Behind Hiccup, Astrid held both her children tightly, but she too was staring ahead at Toothless.

"It's okay. It's me." Hiccup extended his hand out in front of Toothless as he turned his head, closed his eyes and hoped his old best friend would remember.

Toothless leaned his head forward towards Hiccup's hand cautiously, but as he got ever so close to contact, he picked up a whiff of a distant and familiar scent. His alert stance now shifted to a playful and excited one, now remembering his old dragon rider and best friend. His very thin pupils expanded out, and a huge smile formed as he made a loud happy screech, looking down at Hiccup and jumped on top of him, licking him playfully, rolling the two of them around on the deck of the ship.

Hiccup laughed happily as Toothless was still giving him licks as he reunited with him. "How's that tail holding up?"

It had been years since they had seen each other, and both couldn't have been more relieved to be together once again.

From behind the reunited duo, Astrid released her protective grip on her children, now laughing happily too.

"It's okay!" Astrid told her children. "He's not going to eat your father."

After a minute, Toothless let Hiccup up, still a huge dragon smile on his face, and a happy smile on Hiccup's face as well.

Toothless glanced at the people behind Hiccup, remembering Astrid quite well, but not knowing the other two little ones.

Hiccup faced his children and wife, and gave Astrid a little hand gesture, ushering them to come forward.

"Go on," Astrid told the kids, pushing them gently towards their father and Toothless. "It's alright."

Both children, with terrified looks on their faces, slowly stumbled forward.

"He won't hurt you," said Hiccup as his children were now standing fairly close next to him.

Toothless glanced down at them gently, sensing their fear.

"Go on, just extend out your hand," said Hiccup as he demonstrated the easy task. "Just let him come to you."

The children, hesitant at first, slowly extended their hands out to Toothless, but closed their eyes and turned their heads a different way, fearful that he would harm them.

Toothless, who knew exactly what the children were trying to do, remembered the exact moment many years ago that he and Hiccup had earned each others trust, and so he smiled and softly went in, pressing the top of his head into their hands.

As they felt the dragon touch their hands, they opened their eyes and faced him, both giving Toothless an astonished look, making Astrid, and Hiccup happy.

Hiccup patted Toothless on the head. "This is Toothless. The best friend I ever had and ever will."

The children did not respond, instead, they smiled in awe, admiring the close-up looks of the Night Fury.

Toothless turned his focus away from the humans in front of him and towards the jagged rocks he came from and gave the dragons in the distance a slightly soft, yet loud, roar, saluting them to come forward and that it was okay.

In seconds, emerging from the fog, came the Light Fury, gliding gracefully with her white and beautiful wings.

As she approached the ship, she landed close to Toothless and looked with her beautiful blue eyes to him. With a quiet sound, she glanced at the fog and once again came two baby dragons, flying self-sufficient on their own.

The two babies landed right in front of their parents—the Light Fury and Toothless.

The first one to set foot on the ship was a mainly white baby dragon, with emerald green eyes. It had dropped right in front of Toothless, prancing around in a circle, trying to catch his own tail. His wings, head, body, skin, and scales were a shimmery white color, with a hint of extremely light grayish-blue in some areas. He had two large ears and two small ones in between the middle of the large ears. The large ears of his were a solid shimmery white, but at the tip, it faded to black. His little spikes on the middle of his head, going down his spine and onto his tail were solid black, contrasting with his mainly white appearance. His paws and underside were a few shades darker than grayish-blue color. His tail, the same shimmery white, changed colors two thirds down into a dark black, covering a chunk of the solid tail and all of both fins.

The second baby dragon was the same size as the other one, both about four or five feet long. His eyes, like his brother, were emerald green. Although, other than the white appearance his brother had, he was mostly black, just like Toothless. The baby dragon looked quite similar to his father, with the same tail shape, eyes, wings, and same two big ears and six small ones—two in between the big ones and two on each side of his head below the main large ears. His underside, however, was white, along with the tips of his paws. His spikes were black at the start but changed into white at the tips. They went down his spine and separated two ways around his tail. He squealed and began to join his brother while prancing around the ship.

Hiccup, Astrid, and the children stared down in awe over the magnificent baby creatures, making Toothless and the Light Fury smile.

"Toothless! You're a dad!" Hiccup congratulated, earning only an overly proud stance from Toothless with his head held high and his eyes closed, and head up towards the sky, earning a slight shake in the head of the Light Fury.

The children looked to play with the baby dragons, but hesitated, looking to Hiccup for guidance.

"It's alright," Hiccup assured. "They're babies! They won't do any harm!"

With a smile, the children gently bent to the floor of the ship, and the two baby dragons rushed to explore what they were. After all, the baby dragons had never seen any humans before!

Astrid walked up to Hiccup, placing both of her hands on his left shoulder, looking out over the front of the ship, and out to the fog.

"What's wrong?" Hiccup sensed her longing for something.

"Stormfly," she whispered. "You think she's still in there?"

The Hidden World was what she meant. For all the dragons once on Berk had descended their years ago.

"Yes, she probably just doesn't know we're—"

Hiccup was interrupted when the two witnessed another large dragon fly out from the fog, heading towards their ship, landing right at the edge as Toothless did before.

Just to Astrid's luck, her dragon arrived feet in front of her and she couldn't have been happier.

"Stormfly!" Astrid ran towards the beautiful Deadly Nadder, wrapping her arms around her with a smile.

Stormfly made a happy sound and flapped her wings out of pure joy.

"She must have heard us," Hiccup clarified, scratching his wives former best friend's blue scales.

The kids now shifted their focus away from the little dragons and now towards the biggest dragon there, running up to her and gazing up in awe.

"Kid's this is Stormfly," Astrid told them after she came out of a hug with her dragon. "She was my best friend a long time ago. Go on, she won't hurt you. She loves people!"

The arrival of Stormfly now captured the attention of the little dragons, causing them to run to their parents and stare up at the Deadly Nadder they already knew quite well.

Hiccup smiled and admired the baby dragons belonging to Toothless and the Light Fury, but his clear smile changed to a confused expression after a few seconds.

"I could've sworn there was three of you." Hiccup bent down to play with them.

Toothless glanced at Hiccup, then quickly tilting his head to the other side of the ship, as if he was trying to tell him something was over there.

The two baby dragons rolled and pounced at each other, gliding from one side of the ship to another and back again—Hiccup and Toothless watching them carefully.

As the white dragon with vibrant emerald green eyes pounced from a few feet away onto his sibling, the two rolled in a ball together playfully.

But something odd happened. Their playful roll stopped when they crashed and separated on the deck of the ship with a thud as they seemed to collide with something in the mid-air. But the thing that surprised Hiccup—who was watching from the other side of the ship—was the fact that there was nothing in front of them that they could've crashed into...unless the thing that they crashed into wasn't visible to the human eye...

The seemingly clear and invisible "air" that the two playful dragons hit, however, seemed to form into the shape of another baby dragon, a third little offspring of Toothless and the Light Fury. Now realizing that the third dragon was not visible, it shied away while sitting alone.

Everyone on the ship, except for the dragons, stared in awe at the camouflaged baby dragon, now sitting embarrassed and alone on the opposite side of the ship, looking up and back down at her paws, not maintaining clear eye contact with any one person.

The Light Fury looked over to the young offspring, giving her a sound, saluting the little dragon to come over towards them.

The third baby dragon, once hid completely with the power of camouflaging and turning invisible, just as her mother, slowly walked over to where everyone was, her eyes still not making eye contact with anyone, but instead, looking straight down at her claws, making a soft annoyed sound with a hint of worry in it.

As she walked over, Hiccup, Astrid, and their children admired the look of the baby dragon as they did for the others. Her main color was black, just like her father. Her paws, moving slowly with one in front of another, were white, but you could still see her main black color fade into white halfway down at the leg. Her claws, little stubs, were light brown, and the bottom center of each individual paw had a little splotch of pink, surrounded by white. The spikes on her were solid black all the way down her head, neck, spine, and tail. Although she was mostly black, she was quite similar to her brother, with the same white colored underside, but instead of the white starting down at the belly, the white underside began from the bottom of her mouth and continued on. Her face, however, was not all black. In fact, her little nose was white, with a barely visible underside of soft pink nostrils.

Her eyes, however, were quite different from her brothers and fathers. Her eyes were a soft, yet somehow bright, blue, just as her mothers were. They were beautiful, even though she didn't make direct eye contact with anyone, they could still see the beauty and essence of them from the bits they managed to witness.

As the little female offspring finally arrived in between Toothless and the Light Fury, she sat down, looking down at her paws once more, using her cloaking ability to appear to be nothing once again. But as she was halfway invisible, Toothless, grunting, nudged her with his paw, getting her to remain her solid self once again.

"Its okay girl," Hiccup said softly, crouching down to get closer to her. "We won't hurt you. There is nothing to be afraid of."

The Light Fury looked down at her daughter, then at her two other offspring prancing and playing at the other side of the ship. She let a hiss escape her, making the two brothers trot over to where everyone was.

Astrid also knelt down to see the baby girl dragon. "Oh, she's just shy."

The other two joined their sister, all three of them sitting together now, staring up humorously at Hiccup and Astrid...well, at least two of them did.

"Wow…," Astrid gasped. "How can three creatures look so similar yet so different at the same time?"

"They're beautiful," whispered Zephyr, bending down, and tilting her head at the white dragon with green eyes.

"Yeah," Nuffink agreed.

Hiccup slowly stood up, still keeping his eyes locked on the young offspring of Toothless and the Light Fury. The three were really the perfect combination of both parents.

"Night Lights," said Hiccup. "Night Lights!"

Astrid and the children tilted their heads in confusion. Toothless, knowing what he meant, smiled, looking back and forth between his offspring, his mate, and Hiccup.

"The perfect species name for these hybrids!" Hiccup exclaimed. "Night Fury and Li—"

"And Light Fury," Astrid interrupted, finishing the statement.

Astrid sat on the deck, allowing herself to be surrounded by them all, but within seconds, the boy baby dragons—both with green eyes—ran off and played, not really fully immersed with the event.

Astrid, still sitting on the deck in front of the remaining Night Light, extended her hand out slowly towards the blue-eyed baby who was mainly black with a white nose, trying to make contact with her as Hiccup had done with Toothless long ago.

The Night Light first focused her big blue eyes on her palm, bringing her head steadily close, hesitating and retreating back a few millimeters before going back again, and finally allowed herself to come to contact with her hand.

This shocked the Night Light, even though she allowed herself to do it just as she had watched the children do the same with her father from the distant fog. Having the feeling of a creature other than another dragon contact her frightened her a bit, for she had not seen any humans before and being the intelligent, yet young, dragon she was, she didn't know what would happen or if she could really trust them.

But from the second Astrid's hand touched her head, she started to cloak from the very spot contact was made. The invisibility spread like a virus, moving so fast, yet so delicately along her whole body. By the time she was halfway clocked and invisible, it looked as if half of her had vanished into nothing, but they all knew she was still there.

Halfway down the middle ridge of her wings, her cloaking suddenly stopped when she opened her eyes. With her head invisible all the way cloaked, her eyes looked as if they were floating alone in mid-air, which created a marvelous perspective of this particular dragon.

After she blinked her blue eyes, her clocking retreated faster than it spread down her back, now revealing her solid visible form once again.

"Amazing," Hiccup whispered, and everyone else thought it as well.

Astrid, crouching down next to the baby dragon that now trusted them, ran the back of her hand on the side of the dragons face gently, making the baby purr softly, and finally making eye contact with them now.

"What are we going to do now Papa?" asked Hiccup's daughter, with her focus turned to Stormfly, who was flapping her mainly blue colorful wings and expanding them out as she tilted her great big head from side to side, still looking at the girl.

Toothless was mainly the one who responded to that question by looking at Hiccup, raising his tail from behind with the black made up the fake fin, and expanding it and letting it become the same size and design as his real fin. He then opened his wings all the way up, smiling happily at Hiccup with his tongue out of his mouth.

"You wanna go flying bud?" Hiccup smiled, and within a few minutes of setting up to fly, they all took off into the sky.

Toothless and Hiccup flew together for the first time in years of seeing each other, and it felt like heaven to both of them. With every second he spent up there, Hiccup felt free once more, just like the old days. The wind blew against Hiccup's face and he couldn't help but smile and take it all in as he was finally with his best friend, and experiencing the freedom he once felt long ago. But sitting in front of Hiccup was his son, his first time ever flying. His expression was happy, with pure joy and excitement shining through his eyes.

Astrid and her daughter rode on top of Stormfly as they passed through every cloud in front of them.

The dragons with their old riders and their children, soaring through the air, diving up and down and spinning into every cloud ahead of them—flying with such passion as if it was their last time to be up in the glorious and free sky.

The Light Fury and the Night Lights flew right alongside Hiccup and Toothless.

Despite the Night Light's "little" size, they kept up a great pace right beside Toothless, showing no signs of weakness as they flew through the beautiful sky alongside their new human friends and their parents.

The female Night Light, blue eyes with a white nose, shot a plasma blast in the sky, only a few feet in front of her, and just like her mother—and as she did before, she cloaked as she went through the flames, becoming invisible for a few seconds after, before reappearing and coming into view once more. She let out a happy sound. Now somewhat trusting of the humans she just met, she tried to impress everyone by flying as fast as she could in front of her brothers, and then twirling her whole body three hundred and sixty degrees over Hiccup and Toothless gracefully, really showcasing her large wingspan as her blue eyes locked with Hiccup's little boy.

After a while of flying, the dragons all went back down to the ship they once were on.

The children, now with their feet locked onto the ship, were laughing and showing off their biggest smiles after they're first ever flight on dragons.

Hiccup's face smile slowly turned to a frown, knowing it was time to go once again.

Hiccup shot his wife a devastated look, and with his hand, he gestured towards their laughing children.

Astrid walked towards them and put her hands on their shoulders. "It's time to say goodbye."

Toothless heard Astrid and looked immediately to Hiccup, a confused and hurt expression on his face, but his green eyes showed understanding, knowing that it was the right thing, no matter how much he, along with Hiccup, hated it.

The children, now also devastated—but not as much as Hiccup. They slowly walked to each dragon and said their goodbyes. Astrid also said her goodbyes to each dragon, especially Stormfly, who took off from the ship shortly after.

Astrid moved to the other side of the ship with her children to give Hiccup and Toothless privacy, already knowing that this was the hardest thing for him to do.

Hiccup walked over to Toothless, not meeting direct eye contact immediately, but managing to do it when they were face to face.

"Its time for us to go, bud," told Hiccup sadly. As he spoke, his throat clogged up a bit. "I know it been a long time and today was short, but I promise I will see you again."

Toothless's green eyes showed understanding towards his best friend, and as Hiccup finished speaking, Toothless pulled him into a hug, not sure when the next time they would see each other would be.

Hiccup excepted the affectionate hug and wrapped his arms around him, feeling slight tears in his eyes.

"Goodbye," Hiccup whispered for only Toothless to hear, and Toothless muttered a sound, returning the goodbye.

Toothless return to his mate and his children and the five of them glided back to the foggy place they once were.

With that, Astrid set the sail, turned the ship, and the family started their voyage back to Berk.

Hiccup, although he said his goodbyes, still looked off from the side of the ship towards those rocks, and stared at the outlines of the Toothless and his family until the distance faded them out of view.

Hiccup's daughter made her way next to her father, leaning her arms against the ships rim. "Papa? Will we ever see them again?"

He looked down to her and with a smile he spoke one word passionately, "Yes."
