Twilight Town had the most amazing sunset. Out of all the worlds he had seen, the natural beauty that this town offered was what appealed to Axel most. The splay of red, orange, and yellow was a comforting sight. No wonder Roxas liked it here.

Axel chuckled and stared down at his slightly melted sea salt ice cream bar. He turned his eyes to his blonde companion, who happily looked at the sunset and watched the sunset. A soft smile graced Axel's lips as he watched his best friend.

A smile formed on Roxas' lips. "There is so much we haven't seen out there," he commented, a dreamy state washed over his eyes.

Axel leaned forward, his elbows resting on his knees as he refocused his attention to the horizon. He closed his eyes, reveling in the moment. "And we probably won't see it," he replied solemnly.

The crest of Roxas's lip fell slightly, and he refocused his eyes to the city below, idly licking his ice cream. His blue eyes rested on a trio below, two boys and a female. He could hear part of their conversation even from the top of the train station. They were planning a trip to the beach. "I want to go to the beach," he sighed, longing wistfully.

Axel repositioned himself so that he was sitting up. "Nobodies can't go to the beach," he replied.

Roxas sighed. "Yeah…I know." Roxas finished off his ice cream and looked over at his red haired companion. He noticed that he barely touched his ice cream and it was almost melted. "You better eat it, or it will melt and mess up your clothes," he chided softly.

Axel gave a small laugh and a smile. He extended his ice cream to Roxas. "Here. You have it. You like these more than me."

"But—"

"No buts."

Roxas took the ice cream and began to eat that one as well. The two of them stayed in silence for a little while longer. It was when Roxas was on the last lick that he spoke. "…I'm leaving the Organization."

Axel's head shot up and he looked quickly at Roxas. "They won't let you."

Roxas nodded. "I know. I am prepared to overcome any obstacles."

"Is this because you found out that you were Sora's nobody?" asked Axel, his voice growing faint. The one person he liked. The one he trusted in the Organization was living.

"Yes, and no. I don't want to be a shadow of someone else," spoke Roxas. "But…I also want to meet Sora," he finished with a smile on his face. "I want to know…if he makes a good other."

"You can also wield the keyblade, Xemnas won't give you up easily," responded Axel. His loyalty was to Xemnas, as their leader. He killed the traitors at Castle Oblivion for him.

"I know," said Roxas solemnly. Roxas turned his head, his eyes fixating on Axel's profile. "I'm not asking you to choose sides. This battle I have to fight alone."

"Heh. You're more like Sora then you think, Roxas," spoke Axel, remembering his encounter with the young keyblade master in Castle Oblivion. Axel's look went sullen. He never thought things would turn out like this. He had to let go. Axel met his gaze with Roxas, "Roxas. You were the only one I liked. You made me feel…as if I had a heart," he confessed.

Roxas inhaled sharply, taken aback by the small confession. He stood up, and finished the last of his seasalt ice cream. "I guess this is goodbye…" Roxas turned away from Axel. He paused an waited for Axel to say goodbye. Axel's mouth didn't move, he kept his attention focused on the disappearing sun. Roxas heart sank a little, and he closed his eyes, before exhaling slowly. Roxas opened his eyes, determination set in them, before he walked away. Axel turned his head, and watched Roxas' retreating figure.

I never thought things would turn out like this. That's when you know time is always changing…
