For Whom The Bell Tolls: Extended Ending
It wasn't long after D.W. recovered from laryngitis that Arthur decided to have a serious talk with her. They were talking in her room with the door closed.
"Did you know?" Arthur asked.
"Did I know what?" D.W. asked.
The 8 year old crossed his arms in annoyance.
"During the time you had laryngitis; I thought it would be good that you couldn't talk; but, that Francine gave me a hard time because of it," Arthur told her.
D.W. hadn't realized that Francine was harrassing Arthur for thinking how great it would be if she couldn't talk.
"That's why I called her dad and told him what she's been doing to me; I asked her to stop and she wouldn't," Arthur added.
"I'm sorry Arthur; if I had the choice; I wouldn't get laryngitis and Francine wouldn't have harrassed you about it," D.W. replied.
"Getting laryngitis wasn't your fault; if only I could give Francine a taste of her own medicine; see how she likes being constantly harrassed," Arthur stated.
D.W. giggled evily like she was planning something.
Meanwhile at Francine's apartment, her dad knocked on her door.
"What, Dad?" Francine asked.
"Arthur told me what you were doing to him during the time his sister had laryngitis; he also mentioned that you were told to stop and you didn't," Oliver said.
The 8 year old girl stepped out of her room to face her dad.
"Oh that Arthur; what a baby and a tattletale," Francine scoffed.
The look on Oliver's face made Francine frown.
"He was not being a baby; you were being just plain mean; your mother and I taught you better than this," Oliver claimed.
Francine's mom Laverne came up to the room once she heard the conversation.
"Your dad is right Francine; You should be lucky that Arthur is a forgiving boy and that you should go over to his house and apologize for your behavior," Laverne said sternly.
"What if I don't?" Francine asked.
"If you don't; no drum playing or tv for two weeks," Laverne stated.
Francine sighed; she loved playing the drums and watching tv. So, she sighed and went over to Arthur's house.
Meanwhile, Arthur was watching tv. Jane was in the kitchen when she heard a knock on the door. Moments later, Jane led Francine to the livingroom.
"Arthur; I need to talk to you," Francine admitted.
Arthur turned to look at Francine.
"I'm still mad at you Francine; you were being a relentless bully to me when D.W. had laryngitis," Arthur said.
Francine sighed.
"I know; I just want to say I'm sorry; if you could find it in your heart to forgive me for being such a pain in the butt," Francine said.
Arthur thought about it. She did sound sincere when she apologized. Then, he nodded.
"I forgive you; want to stay and watch tv or go back home?" Arthur asked.
"Okay; then, how about we go find the others and play a game of soccer in the park," Francine suggested.
"Okay," Arthur agreed.
Arthur and Francine are glad they made things right with each other; so they could put the ugly mess behind them.
