Summary: It really is quite difficult to decribe Lily's smile.
Author's Notes: Yes, yes, I know it technically could be any heterosexual pairing, but I wrote it with Lily/James in mind and I can't see it as anything else.
It's not the kind of mile-wide grin you have after your team wins the QWC, or that fake sort of smile you plaster onto your face family reunions, while you pretend that you actually like have your face pinched and squeezed all the time.
No, it's a different sort of smile.
She doesn't show all her teeth, but it isn't one of those barely-bend-your-lips sort of smiles either. It's not a crazed killer grin, but it isn't a I-Really-Wish-I-Wasn't-Here kind of smile either.
It's the kind of smile you use while you're holding a conversation, or looking at your new baby sister. It doesn't mean your necessarily happy, but . . .content. Content's the word.
I think she's looking this way–-she's looking at me! Oh, Merlin, she just smiled.
She has a beautiful smile.
