SKYRIM; ANOTHER WORLD

By GameFan 335

Author's Note: Formerly Transcendent Emotions. This story has been re-written entirely. The main plot is the same, but will be told better. Thank you to my followers for your patience.

Summary: A woman named Nicole is forcefully shunted from Detroit, USA, to Skyrim along with her childhood friend during a freak snowstorm. Little does she know that she is the Dragonborn, destined to save Nirn from certain destruction.

Disclaimer: I do not own Skyrim. Nor the other Elder Scrolls titles. It all belongs to Bethesda Game Studios. The only things of this fan fiction that I own are my two original characters. No, they are not characters I made in my game, but Nicole is simular to my first Nord character.

Warnings: Moderate to high ratings for violence and adult themes. Should not be read by anyone younger than 15 in later chapters. No lemon. I'm not that kind of writer. Major spoilers for the X-Box and PC game Elder Scrolls V; Skyrim. If you are playing the game, you have been warned.

Aaron (Logvaar in Skyrim); Age 27. Golden/brown hair, long enough so that a few strands fall down his forehead naturally. Caucasian, reasonably tanned. 181cm in height. Fit muscle tone.

Prologue

"Nicole, wait up!" a voice called out.

Turning around, I saw my childhood friend, Aaron, jogging towards me. He had a worried look on his face, so I stopped walking and let him catch up.

"Did you listen to the radio on the way here?" he asked.

"No, I had a CD on. Is there something wrong?" I answered with another question. Strange how that often happens.

"There's a freak snowstorm headed this way." he said, "It's off the charts. The BOM is warning everyone in the Detroit area to go home within the next hour and prepare to be snowed in for two days! It's massive!"

"So much for going back to work…" I sighed. The Christmas season had just ended and I was hanging out for my first pay-check of the year that would help me pay my bills. Looks like I was going to miss another two days. Such is the life of a Casual employee…

I looked around during my musing and couldn't see Aaron's car.

"Can you get home?" I asked him.

"Not in my car. It's in the shop getting checked for rego. I was going to take a bus home." he replied

"Your house is too far away. You won't make it with all the traffic. Get in my car. We'll wait out the snowstorm at my place." I suggested, throwing my now-cold coffee cup into the bin and getting my keys out of my pocket.

Aaron tried to talk me out of it, but I wouldn't hear it. I had a sofa-bed for in case a relative came to visit, so it wasn't like Aaron would be intruding.

While the car was warming up. I called my boss to make sure he knew I wasn't coming. Mostly a formality, since he had already sent everyone else home and was about to call me, anyway.

Coming out onto the street, I could already tell that the main roads would be packed. My apartment was close to the commercial centre of the City, so I had time to take the back roads and avoid traffic. I was making good time until the wind picked up.

The wind must've been very fast, because one gust very nearly blew the car off the road! Thank God I still had the snow chains on my wheels. I didn't bother taking them off during my time off work, so the car didn't slip along the snow already packed onto the road. But, five minutes later, the wind got so strong, I lost control of the car and we were driving through snow.

"HIT THE BRAKES!" Aaron shouted as we careened towards a cliff.

A cliff!? How was there a cliff so far into Detroit?

Regardless, I put my foot down and waited for the car to slow down before clutching the handbrake.

I was too slow. We were already hanging precariously off the cliff face with two tyres already off the edge.

"We have to get out… slowly…" Aaron said, carefully unbuckling his seatbelt.

Before we could attempt to get out, the back window smashed, exposing us and the car to the terrible weather outside. Another gust of wind blew right through us.

And knocked the car off the edge.

"AAAAAAHHHHHHHhhhhhhhh!"

Aaron POV

I woke up feeling extremely cold. Somehow, I had landed outside of Nicole's car. I couldn't see the car anywhere.

The blizzard had gone into full swing while I was unconscious. If not for my winter clothes, I would've frozen to death. As it was, I was losing warmth very quickly. I had to find Nicole and get us to a shelter. Hopefully someone close to the city would let us in.

Although… I couldn't see Nicole, either. I tried shouting her name, but I couldn't hear my own voice over the wind.

She must've ended up stuck in the car. It seemed that, since I had unbuckled my seatbelt, the fall had catapulted me out of the back window. I thought I could feel a cracked rib, but other than that, I was fine. I would have to walk carefully, though.

First thing's first, I had to try and find the car. If Nicole was still unconscious, or pinned, she wouldn't survive this.

I'm not sure how long I spent looking for Nicole, but the search was fruitless, and the temperature was dropping rapidly. I couldn't spend any longer outside without risking hypothermia. There was nothing more I could do for Nicole…

Suddenly, the snow underneath me started to crumble. Was I still on the cliff? Before my frozen body could react, I was tumbling into a seemingly endless void…

How was I going to survive this

a/n: I LIVE! And I've finally broken through this writer's block! Hopefully, everyone enjoys this better than my previous attempt. I split the next chapter into two due to the amount of content. Please read and review! Please keep in mind that I have no beta. :-) …Oh, boy, it's good to be back!
