Jace is sarcastically and conceded.
Love was all he ever needed
to reveal that inside he had feeling, too,
Falling in love with a girl was so new.
He used to toy around with girls as if they were just a prize;
that was until Clary Fray caught his eyes.
The minute he saw her, he felt something he had never felt before;
Love, care, and adore.

Clary was brought up as a mundane.
The incidents that night at the club were just something she couldn't explain.
She learned she was a Shadow-Hunter; her life had been a lie
that she surely couldn't deny.
Her feelings for Jace were so real, like nothing she had felt before.
How could she possibly love him anymore?

Jace refused to give into his whim,
"To love is to destroy," Valentine had explained to him.
He had pursued those words since Valentine had killed his pet,
Jace remembers the falcon he loved, but he wishes he could forget.
"To be loved is to be destroyed" Valentine had also said,
And Jace didn't let Valentine see the many tears that were shed.
Jace had never cried since then.
How could he love anything ever again?

Clary expressed her feelings freely to him, even though she was shy.
But, Jace seemed to ignore her attempts, which made her want to cry.
It seemed as if he hated her for some reason she didn't know.
After a while he gave in, letting his true feelings show.
Clary knew he loved her, but he had trouble showing it.
Loving someone was hard for Jace to admit.

When Jace was around Clary, he tried to be on high alarm.
He didn't want her to be harmed.
But, Jace couldn't keep his feelings hidden for long;
they were far too strong.
In no time, he was heads over heels for this girl,
with her beautiful, bouncing curls.

When he believed she was his sister, their love should have been forbidden.
Jace managed to keep his feelings hidden
by avoiding her as much as he could.
Neither one of them knew the situation was misunderstood.
Clary was hurt by all of this,
and she would have given anything for just one more kiss.

It turned out they weren't related;
they were only being baited
by Valentine for his evil plan.
Who knew so much trouble could be caused by one man?

Even through everything that was sent their way,
their affection for each other turned out better than okay.
Jace and Clary are perfect for each other.
It is good Jace didn't turn out to be Clary's brother.
True love can conquer all;
any problems big or small.
