A crisp wind shook the trees and ruffled Akaashi Keiji's black hair. He stood on the balcony of his own apartment, a scarf wrapped around his neck and gloves on his hands. The city lights below shone for miles. Mountains bordered the area, contrasting against sky coloured by the setting sun.

There was a faint knock from inside and Akaashi returned back to the warmth of his home. Before he could reach the door it burst open. A spiky white-grey and black haired man stood in the doorway, a large grin plastered on his face. Once again, Keiji had no time to react before his boyfriend trapped him in a tight embrace.

"Akaashiiii~!"

"Bokuto-san-"

"I've missed you so much!"

"We saw each other just the other day. Please let go Bokuto-san, and you're tracking slush over the floor ..."

Bokuto pulled away, his hands still tightly gripped onto his shoulders. A small, gold present bag was hanging from his wrist. He took his hands away from the others' shoulders and looked at him with a smile.

"Happy birthday, Akaashi~. I have a gift for you!"

Bokuto kicked off his boots and jacket, handing the bag to his boyfriend. Akaashi took it gently then turned around and walked into the living room, his gloved hand holding onto the others bare one. The two sat down together on the loveseat, Keiji taking off his scarf and gloves and setting them on the coffee table.

"Bokuto-san, you didn't have to get me anythi-"

"Akaashi, please. Just open it."

He sighed gently before reaching into the bag. He pulled out a small black velvet case and smiled slightly. Bokuto looked eagerly at the case, then to Akaashi. His golden eyes were wider than usual and there was an excited way about how he kept looking from the gift to the other male.

Keiji delicately opened the velvety case. Light red dusted over his cheeks and he smiled, burying his face in his free hand. A strong hand rested on his own. He looked up with a heated face at a grinning one.

"You like it? I had to get this custom-made because everything else was way too girly and it needed to look super cool! So-"

Bokuto was stopped mid sentence. Tender lips had pressed against his own. He stared down at Akaashi. His eyes were closed gently and hands had moved up to his face. He pulled away then reached into the velvet case. He drew a silver bracelet out of it.

A winking owl charm, that somehow looked liked Bokuto, was placed onto the bracelet. The words "You're A Hoot To Me!" were carved onto the sides. Hearts were also etched into the silver, gold instead. It was completely free of finger prints and could've been used as a mirror. Akaashi clipped it onto his wrist, admiring it.

"I love it, Bokuto-san."

The spiky haired male perked up again. "Really! Oh, that's awesome! I was so worried you wouldn't like it. I showed it to Kuroo and he just..."

Once again, words were interrupted by lips pressing against lips. But Bokuto was more prepared this time and closed his eyes. When Keiji's hands made contact with Bokuto's face his own moved to the shorters' waist.

The pair spent the rest of the night kissing each other in the dim room.
