Alexa Maine never knew what she would find in Forks. She just wanted a quiet territory to settle down in, but she got more than that when she arrived in Forks. You could say she found her everything...
I was streaking through Forks' woodland when they came. A whole coven of vampires, blocking my path. They looked calm, unsettled by my presence. I was a little annoyed at these mysterious strangers, but I buried any signs of annoyance I might have given off.
"Has this territory already been claimed? I didn't see any traces of other vampires when I arrived." I casually stated.The oldest ( I think,anyway ) stepped forward and spoke to me.
"Yes, I'm afraid it has. You are very welcome to pass through, though." He told me. "I am Carlisle and this is my family. Edward, Emmett, Alice, Esme, Jasper, Rosalie." He gestured toward them as he spoke their names. "And you are?" He asked me.
"I'm Alexa." I said. They seemed friendly. But wary. Suddenly the one called Alice gasped. Swiftly they were all by her side. The one called Edward looked shocked at something.
"What did you See, Alice?" Carlisle said.
"Alexa is... Edwards soulmate! I don't really see how that could be possible but I saw them making the connection that happens when you find your soulmate." I couldn't believe what I was hearing. He was gorgeous, I had to admit. Maybe he was my soulmate. But I don't know how she knew.
Suddenly, it happened. The connection, the bond made when a vampire finds their soulmate. Like the Earth shifting. Like the stars aligning. Like time stopped, just to allow you that moment. And suddenly it was over. We were both gasping for breath unnecessarily.
"See! It just happened! They'll be bonded together for eternity now. She can't leave without feeling pain for Edward." Alice said. And somehow I knew she was right.
