Beautiful World
Akihiko/Minako. He wishes his evoker didn't just summon a persona.
a/n: I kinda hate Akihiko's route in P3P, so this in not following canon and slightly OOC. Also, I can't seem to write happy things about P3.
Shinji is crying – he doesn't remember seeing Shinji crying, other than the one time he caught him on the rooftop trying to kill himself with his out of control Persona.
Minako's body doesn't move.
He forces himself to move toward her, sure that when he touches her he'll feel the warmth that never leaves her. He'll feel her pulse, and it'll be faint, but there. And then when he pulls her closer, he'll hear her soft breaths, and he'll be able to hear her heartbeat. And she'll wake up, maybe an hour later, and she'll pull him down to a kiss, and he'll forget to breathe. Then she'll call his name, and he'll finally tell her that stupid phrase that everyone places way too much emphasis on, and he can't seem to say without clamming up and spluttering out something else like, 'Pancakes.'
'Minako?'
He can't feel her pulse.
Someone shoves him – his hand feels on fire – and he blindly punches whoever it was, hopefully in the face. He can't feel his hand, so he's not sure it connects with anything, but he pulls it back to touch her face.
Her skin sags under his touch.
It must be a dream.
None of this could possibly be- It can't be real.
'Minako?' He hates repeating himself. But she's not responding, and she would never joke like this, because as bad as her humour is, it most decidedly tends to the lame side of the spectrum, not the sadistic.
'Minako. Minako.' He can't recognise his voice.
'Mina…Mi-' his voice cracks. It doesn't make sense. She's asleep. Why is it bothering him? All he has to do is speak a little louder. It'll only be a couple more minutes.
Just a couple more minutes.
You're such a dork, Aki.
'Mina-'
'Shut up.'
Shinji pulls him up, and then he's back on the floor again, and Minako still hasn't moved, and he thinks he sees Yukari, and Junpei's shouting something, and he realises that he's been tuning out the sounds of crying and wailing around him.
His cheek hurts.
'Shut up. Just… shut up.'
His vision is blurry.
It has to be a dream.
