Opera Night
"Fagombia 9: Battle of Eternity! Greatest opera you'll ever see!" grinned the Doctor as he changed into a tuxedo, jumping around the console room as he spoke.
"What's this…space opera about anyway?" asked Rose, leaning on the console.
Rose immediately wished she hadn't asked such an open-ended question, as the Doctor launched into another of his famous rambles.
"It's set 200 years in the past. Well, 200 years from where we are, which is 2761, so it's set about 2564. Or was it 2563? I should know, I was there…
Anyway, it's all set in space on the planet Fagombia 9, which was destroyed in 2664. But they created a new planet called Fagombia 10 and-!"
"Woah, woah! Slow down! Fagombia 10 is…?"
The Doctor grinned, strutted over to the doors and pushed them open.
The immediate sound of thousands of voices chattering and moving about flooded into the TARDIS. There was also a distinct pine smell that made Rose breathe in deep through her nose and smile.
She too bounded over to the doors to peek outside, but the Doctor closed them before she could snatch a glance into the wondrous world outside.
"You think I'd let you go to a fancy opera looking like that?" scoffed the Doctor, looking down at Rose's hoodie and jeans.
"Go upstairs to the wardrobe. There should be something nice there."
Rose rolled her eyes, sighing. She turned and ran up one of the many staircases, as the Doctor leaned out the door for another look.
"Oh, hello there! I'm the Doctor! And who might you be?"
The Doctor was dragged out of the TARDIS with a, "Woah!" and the doors slammed shut behind him.
