"Hi there!"
"Um… Hi? Do I know you?"
"Wha? Oh right! I'm Malik. Anyways, great seeing you again Ryou!"
And with that the bubbly blond disappeared back into the crowd, leaving a very confused Ryou behind.
'Who was that? How did he know me?'
Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, he continued walking towards the craft store.
He'd had a strange urge this morning to create a new game board. A board with caves, sand, a destroyed village and a royal palace.
'Maybe Ancient Egypt? Hmm… I'll need to make some new figures to fit then. A few guards, the royal court, some miscellaneous villagers and a lone survivor. What should he be?' He walked slowly down the isle, picking out paint colours as he made his way to the wood.
'What should he be? What sho… a thief maybe? It makes sense in a slightly twisted way. He'd need to be able to survive with nothing…' He felt a sense of right as he made that connection. With a shrug he put a tin of blood red paint into his basket. As he continued to the wood, he failed to notice the hysteric laughter echoing around him. He was so absorbed in his task that he didn't even notice the link he thought closed forever, re-open.
/Well done landlord, don't stop now./
After acquiring all the wood he felt he would need Ryou walked back passed the paint, towards the tills. On a whim he swapped the tin of red for an even bigger one. He had a feeling he'd be needing a lot of it.
He shivered, had that been laughter? 'No, couldn't be.' Pushing the thought aside with the observation that it was rather cold in the shop, he kept going.
Unknown to him, the manic laughter simply followed.
