The moon had just begun to rise a little while ago, casting a pale illumination apon the grass. The night air beginning to get more chilly, and I beginning to wonder why Link wanted me to follow him out here at this time of night. It wasn't until we were out to a secluded area, the grass overgrown from the lack of people walking here, that Link stopped. He took the time to look around, probably for any stray monsters that might be in the area, and placed his sword and shield on the ground. He just stood there for a while, back to me, as if he was struggling over something.

I tentatively began to walk closer to him, holding my hand out to place it on his shoulder. I wanted to ask him if everything was ok, but the words were stopped when he turned around, his hand grabbing my outstretched one softly. He had a different look in his eyes. The same determined look I've known since I first met him, but there was also a softer side to it. My mind began to go blank at this time. Suddenly, I wasn't even aware of the cold breeze. All I could feel was a warmness taking over my being, and a desire to just stare in to those soft, blue eyes.

I felt him let my hand go, as he brought his own hand up to softly caress my cheek. I could see him smile as he moved even closer, his other arm wrapping around my waist, pulling me close to him. He leaned in closr, his eyes never leaving mine, and I felt his lips against mine. It was right then that the whole world seemed to vanish. It was just me and him, in a void, the only light in the darkness shining apon us. My eyes closed as I lost myself in this kiss. I had never felt more complete, more confortable, than now, in his arms. Time no longer mattered, only that we could stay like this, together.

However, the kiss did end. I opened my eyes, feeling his arms around me still, and our eyes met. It was then that he spoke, for the first time since he called me out here. I already knew what was going to be said, but my heart was still beating with anticipation. Slowly, his voice broke the silence, "Malon... I love you."

As soon as I heard those words, I felt completely at peace. I wrapped my arms around his waist and rested my head on his chest. I closed my eyes, taking the the feeling of being close to him. Standing there, the breeze blowing past us, I finally found my own voice, "I love you too, Link." I let out a small sigh of contentment, "I have for a long time now."

His embrace around me tightned, and mine to him. I felt his head resting ontop of mine as we just stood there, enjoying each other's company. No more words were said for the time, and none were needed. Just our feelings for each other said enough.
