He barely believes it when he sees him for the first time. It's been longer than 12 months, longer than anyone with any sense at all would have waited, but it hadn't been for nothing. He feels like crying with absolute joy as he takes in the boy's appearance, finally seeing him, Soushi, the center of his world once again.
Before he can stop himself, he's embracing him fiercly. "Soushi..." he sobs into his chest, hands caught in Soushi's shirt. He repeats his name over and over again, tears soaking the fabric, incredulity and utter relief present in his mind.
He calms soon, frowning at a lack of any response from him. He stares up into Soushi's eyes, which he then realizes look horribly blank, containing almost no emotion in them. "...Soushi?" he asks hesitantly, almost dreading what he would receive.
Soushi looks down at him, the most placid look on his face. "Makabe Kazuki."
Kazuki realizes something is dead wrong once he hears Soushi's voice; it's monotony is cold and calculating.
"Minashirou Soushi... no longer exists."
