Passionate Soldier

A poem from Rei's point of view about her awakening as a sailor warrior.

A/N: This is another one of my poems from the POV of a Sailor Senshi: this time Mars.  It's about Rei's "awakening" as a senshi. 

Disclaimer: I don't own Sailor Moon (naturally).

A phoenix rises from the ashes of my soul,

And guides me to my destiny.

My passion ignites,

And I awaken to my calling.

The soldier is born from the fire:

A goddess of war,

With fear and panic as her companions.

She dwells inside my burning heart,

She calls my name,

And I answer.

We are one and the same,

This fire-deity and I.

She lends me her strength,

And guides me to my future.

From these flames,

I am born anew.

I become the fire soldier,

A goddess reborn.

- Note: "With fear and panic as her companions" is a reference to Rei's ravens Phobos and Deimos.  They are named after the two Martian moons which in turn were named after the gods of fear and panic.
