Junior

Gracia hunched over the toilet, throwing up what little she had eaten for breakfast. Her hair fell forward into her face, some even getting in her mouth. Tears spilled from her eyes. I never even got to tell him. She clutched her stomach as yesterday's dinner joined breakfast. Behind her, she was certain she could feel her husband rubbing her back as he did when she was pregnant with Elysia. She turned and saw her daughter with her little hands pressed against Gracia's spine.

Gracia wrapped her coat around her body tightly. Her baby bump was a lot more prominent now and she had decided she needed to confide in someone. And so, she headed toward Central Headquarters with the intention of speaking to Roy Mustang. When she entered his office, she realized she had intruded on a meeting with his subordinates. Roy greeted her warmly and invited her to sit with them.

It was then that she burst into tears and told them everything. Roy hugged her while Havoc ran to get her some water and Fuery fetched the tissues. Upon leaving, Riza promised to be there for her if she ever needed anything.

Gracia struggled with the dinner tray while a beaming Elysia carried the stew. Once the little girl finished informing everyone that she had made the stew, they all dug in. Al filled them in on the Elrics' latest adventure while Ed admired the wonders of stew. Winry was telling a bored Breda about "oh so wonderful automail" while Riza and Gracia chatted about the new baby.

The merriment was cut short when Gracia, while bringing out her apple pie, dropped the tray and screamed, "The baby's coming!"

Ed and Al panicked and ran around the room shrieking like little children. Winry took charge and sent various subordinates to fetch water and towels and instructed Riza and Roy to carry Gracia to her bed. Falman ran out to find a doctor.

After hours of pain and attempting to convince Elysia her mother was going to be all right, a little boy was born. His peach fuzz was black and his eyes were a piercing green. And although he was chubby now, Gracia new that his features would turn out like her late husband's. She smiled at the newborn and made up her mind.

"Welcome to the world, Maes Hughes Junior."

A/N: Phew! My first fanfic (literally wrote it when I was bored in class). I've had this idea in my head ever since Hughes' death. One-shot, short and sweet. Really respect the constructive criticism.

Disclaimer: I don't own Fullmetal Alchemist. That belongs to the lovely Hiromu Arakawa.
