The Conquering

Chapter One

"Men! On horses and in position."

There were black stallions everywhere. Caspian was yelling orders. He had heard of Narnia, the nation to the east. Their last monarch had died hundreds of years before. Now it was just a lawless land filled with beasts. We were Telmarine and belonged to Telmar and after we conquered Narnia, it would belong to us.

I got in my armour and grabbed my long sword and saddled my horse. At the front of the five-hundred man army, Caspian, the King of Telmar and soon King of Narnia, raised the Telmarine flag: orange with a black bird creature centered on it.

"Now my men!" bellowed Caspian. The army surged forward. The horses galloped, the men sang a dirty song or chanted: For Telmar, for Caspian the Conqueror, for Telmar. I had know idea why I wanted to do this. I quess for a better life. In Telmar all I did was raid Calormene ships for money or hunt for fun.

"Hey, Cale." a man beside me yelled. "Why are you doing this? Your not cut out for fighting. You can barly ride your horse!"
