Tru had had an uneasy night. She couldn't sleep and was thirsty all
night. She would turn on the TV or listen to music. That would make it all
worse.
That morning, she got her coffee as usual and headed to the morgue. Davis was sitting at his desk and was filling out some paperwork.
"Hey Davis," Tru said in greeting. He nodded his head in her direction. She decided that he wasn't having a very good day.
The new intern, Ashlea, backed into the morgue. She was pulling a stretcher with a body bag on it. Tru started to pull on her rubber gloves. Behind her, Ashlea was unzipping the bag.
"No need." A voice behind her said. She turned around.
"What?" Tru asked.
Ashlea looked at her with an unknowing look, "I didn't say anything."
The pale, death white face of the young girl that Ashlea had wheeled in turned to her.
"Save me Tru, I need your help!"
Tru gasped in recognition. Suddenly, her day rewound in a whirlwind of scenes of the events of the day so far.
