She sipped her ginger ale trying to calm her upset stomach. He was coming; he was going to be there any minute. She wondered how he would take the news- get upset, throw a fit, be pleasantly surprised.

She had stopped her drinking binge when she learned she was pregnant but now she couldn't help but wonder what damage she had done to the baby.

She sipped some more ginger ale. The doorbell rang. Sara slowly got up.

One moment, one night; hair, hands, kisses, moans, no talking involved. They never discussed it after it happened. They had gone back to where they were before one rainy night and busted tire brought them together. They acted like it never took place. Pretended. Until now she couldn't pretend anymore with her living reminder growing inside of her.

She opened the door.

"Hi, Sara," he said looking uneasy as if he knew what she was going to tell him.

"Hi, Grissom, please come in."

She opened the door for him to enter and watched him walk into her small apartment. Their lives, their relationship was about to change forever. Taking a breath she closed behind them.

"Grissom I have something to tell you. That night..."

She didn't need to finish. His blue eyes read the expression in hers and in one fluid moment he put his shaking arms around her.

They stayed in that position for a while holding on for the first time to each other.

The end.
