Chapter 1
"Gemma, I don't know what to do. How do I get Ziggy to notice me?" I said quietly, my voice desperate and sad. I already knew that my expression was pleading. My twin sister and I stood apart from the other Rangers in the garage where we all lived. You see, Gemma and I are the gold and silver Power Rangers. We live in a car garage with the other Rangers and our tech genius Doctor K. There are five other Power Rangers. Scott Truman is the red Ranger and our team leader, although we don't listen to him often. Flynn McAllistair is the blue Ranger and our mechanic. Summer Landsdown is the yellow Ranger and the peace keeper. Dillon is the black Ranger and is a mystery to everyone, including himself. Ziggy Grover is the green Ranger. He also happens to be the boy I have a crush on.
Right now, the team is spread out around the garage doing what they like in one of the rare moments of peace. Scott is working on his car, Flynn is working on another of his inventions, Doctor K is in her lab, Summer and Dillon are talking about something, and Ziggy is simply sitting and watching everyone. Normally, the green Power Ranger is enthusiastic and social but today he isn't. He's strangely subdued and it's worrying me. Ziggy is the most fragile out of all of us but no one seems to realize that. He wasn't trained to be the green Ranger but he put on the morpher to keep it safe. I've seen how the other Rangers act toward him sometimes, especially when he gets beat in battle, and I don't understand why they criticize Ziggy instead of helping him.
"Just be yourself, Gem. Ziggy will notice you in no time," Gemma said cheerfully, trying to cheer me up. I smiled in gratitude at my sister. She was the only one who knew of my crush on Ziggy and she tried to help me in any way she could. The only problem was that the green Ranger was too cautious and defensive. Our moments of peace were ended by Doctor K hurrying out of her lab.
"Rangers, there is a Venjix attack bot attacking the city," she told us urgently.
"We're on it Doc," Scott said. He reminded me of an eager puppy at times like these. He was always trying to impress his father Colonel Truman.

The team was now back in the garage. We were all resting after getting rid of the attack bot. Ziggy had taken a beating from the Grinders and had seemed overly distracted today. This worried me, although I tried to hide my feelings.
"What was with that bot? It was like scary strong," Ziggy said to the others. I didn't understand why he always tried to act like an idiot. He was a lot smarter than that but he just wouldn't let the others see that.
"The bot wasn't really anything special. You just can't fight at all and refuse to train," Scott said.
"It was the only way I could stop Tenaya from getting the morpher and letting Venjix have it," Ziggy said. He had this argument with Scott so often that I knew just from his tone that he didn't believe the younger teen was the right choice for the green Ranger. The response was immediate and it really just saved them both a lot of time and avoided an argument.
"Leave him alone," Dillon told Scott.
"At least Ziggy is trying," Summer added.
'Why can't I ever stick up for him when he needs me?' I thought, angry with myself.
Ziggy stood up and stretched, faking a yawn. "I'm going to turn in guys. Have to get a good night's sleep if we're going to stop Venjix," he said. He headed up the stairs and to his room.
