Note: Part two of my 6 am angst spree. Don't take it against me; poetry deserves a bit of time under the GA limelight.
Warnings: mentions of religion and violence, language

lucifer was once an angel, dear
- so you need not worry.
we've caused enough trouble today, love
it seems as if we
bear the devil's mark upon our heads
as we enter a religious haven
of tinted windows
and lit candles.
you torch the whole church into
flames, wonderful orange flames
gnawing at the floors
turning holy water into lethal gasoline
and leaving seats and rosaries into ashes -
they wouldn't let us in, would they?
so we barge through the mahogany double doors
even if we are considered as outcasts
and demons
lucifer was once an angel, dear, so
you need not worry -
for what have we done wrong except
be born into this loathesome world
as children who control shadows and fire
and as boys who do not wish
to love anybody else
but ourselves?
they think their prayers to the gods
make us writhe in agony
they lay theories on shaking foundations
and say that magic
does not - will never goddamn
belong to either
science or faith
but they are wrong, they are always wrong, love
because the only ones who are to be condemned
are those who have sinned against the heavens - and
Alices also comprise of billions
of atoms and substances and
other bullshit that people
in white coats
have discovered -
and we kneel before
the deities who have their own
pedestals and statues
made of rock and cement and everything
that is not ethereal
so tell me now, love,
do you think we have harmed by being special?
could you believe that love
is a foolish criminal act
that two boys are forbidden to
carry out?
if you know otherwise
then take my hand, love,
let us paint the town red
and smear the brick walls with blood
we'll be each other's heroes
even if we do not have wings
lining our crooked spines
because the men who possess the flesh
similar to ours have turned against us
with their disguised pitchforks
and spears
if we bear the devil's mark
upon our heads
then so be it,
there will be no turning back, no clicking of soles
but always remember
that lucifer was once an angel, dear
