Ok, i finally found a way around my stupid internet. HAHA TAKE THAT INTERNET MONSTERS! Umm...yeah, so this is awfully short. I was originally gonna do an iCarly fic, but it grew to be more than a one-shot, so i can't do it for this contest, AND its not done yet. SO, this i wrote in a couple of minutes, not very good, but i figured since i already wrote it and all...

Casey was making a list again. After her constant nagging about college, Derek had asked her to be 'normal' for once in her life. But what defined normal? She of course opted to make a list, and underneath the underlined 'normal,' nothing was written. She chewed on her pen as she thought about it. Minutes passed, Marti crawled quietly down the hallway and past her door. There! Normal was a regular occurrence. Something expected, ordinary, usual. It was NORMAL for Edwin and Lizzie to scheme together, it was normal for Marti to have ridiculous antics every other day, it was normal to fight with Derek, it was normal for her to be a keener, grade-grubber, overachieving, organized, overly prepared goody-two-shoes. She was exceedingly SICK of normal. She sat thinking further and further about her definition of normal. It wasn't normal to take something Derek said to heart. To think about it constantly. To have it affect her in such a way. It wasn't normal that every one of his accidental nudges and touches made her shiver and blush. It wasn't normal that she had begun to dream of him as she once had about Truman, and Max and Sam. Except SO much better. It wasn't normal to like your stepsibling. It just didn't happen. It wasn't expected, ordinary, or usual. It wasn't a regular occurrence. Especially since it was THEM. But then again, since when was Casey ordinary, usual, average, common. Why should she stick with normal? She ripped up the sheet with the underlined normal and left her room. No Derek, Casey REFUSES to be normal.

Derek walked down the empty school hallway as if he owned the place. But hey, with the respect he had, he might as well have. And to think that once he handed in this overdue textbook, his rep wouldn't matter... Who was he kidding? The Venturi name would live in these hallways as long as he was Derek. And sure once he got to college he would simply be another inconspicuous freshman, but that would change soon enough. He WAS Derek. It wouldn't be normal for him not to be king. Though he did have some competition…after all Casey WAS queen material. But kings and queens didn't really compete did they? They—well, they…were stepsiblings. Nothing more, nothing less. Besides, even if they weren't, it wouldn't be normal for someone as popular as himself to go out with…her. Not that he was even thinking about it. Although, in college, who could tell? They could both be equally unpopular…but no, Derek? Unpopular? That wouldn't be normal. He would give it up for her. Everything. Not that he'd admit it…then he wouldn't be normal. Nothing would be. But he would give it all up for her. No, it was normal that they fought, and that's it. Nothing more, nothing less. Besides, it's not like he wanted anything more. As he handed in his textbook to the stern looking teacher he thought some more. Why was it so important to be popular? To be liked by many when he could be loved by one and love one. Didn't they always say it was quality over quantity? Did he really want to be normal? Wasn't he above normal? So what if it wasn't normal. He was through with normal. Abnormal was the new normal. And if Derek, king of the halls declared it…then it was law.

Hope this wasn't too different from how i normally write. Um, and if it was i hope it was a GOOD different, lol. So Review and all, thanks for reading!
