I wanted you to know that I love the way you laugh
Edward glanced up at the moon. No longer in Amestris, thinking of Winry and the happiness they shared.
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away
He tried to help her with the loss of losing parents in the Ishbalan war. He tried to keep her happy too. Taking her to places like Rush Valley and Dublith at the price of her smile.
I keep your photograph and I know it serves me well
Ed reached into his pocket and pulled out a picture of himself, Al and Winry when they were little. This was the only photo-memory he had of Winry.
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain
Ed put the photo back in his pocket hoping he did not fail at keeping Winry happy.
'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
He felt so incomplete without her.
And I don't feel right when you're gone away
He felt so depressed, knowing he could never see her again.
You've gone away, you don't feel me, anymore
He knew she'd survive without him. She was strong. What he didn't know is if she loved him the way he loved her. And if she did, would it fade because of their eternal parting?
The worst is over now and we can breathe again
Peace was restored in Amestris. Winry glanced up at the moon, thinking of Edward, who she missed dearly.
I wanna hold you high, you steal my pain away
Winry was thankful for Ed. She remembered the countless times he saved her, like from Barry the Chopper. He made her so happy.
There's so much left to learn
She would have loved to learn alchemy from Ed, remembering his power. She would have loved to teach him how automail works too.
And no one left to fight
The Homunculi were gone. The invaders from the other side of the gate were banished to their side too. But Ed was gone too, never to return.
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain
Winry prayed to herself that while he was here, she made his journey for the Philosophers Stone easier. She prayed he wasn't lying when he said her automail work was flawless.
'Cause I'm broken when I'm open
She thought if she expressed her true feelings to him, it would distract him from his goal. So she kept her emotions bottled up.
And I don't feel like I am strong enough
She felt like she was useless.Whenever he knew she was in danger, he never stopped until she was safe again.
'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
She missed him dearly.
And I don't feel right when you're gone away
Ever sice he left, the thought of him pierced her heart. Could she be truly happy without the one she loved?
'Cause I'm broken when I'm open
He tried to conceal his emotions from her because he thought she would think badly of him if his feelings were discovered.
And I don't feel like I am strong enough
Out of desperation he cried to the moon.
"I love you Winry!"
'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
She felt, because she missed him so much, the need to try. She called to the moon.
"I love you Edward!"
And I don't feel right when you're gone away
Somehow, from the moon, they heard their messages to each other…..
You've gone away, you don't feel me, anymore
They both smiled at the moon hapily. They knew they'd be okay. The memories of each other will never die but their love for each other will only grow stronger.
