The Neverending Scaping
A RuneScape fan fiction (attempt) by Patrickov
Prologue: Uncertainty
Life is a constant for Riv, but existence is not.
In fact, death is a luxury in his world, because nearly everybody restarts life if they perish. But like many, he usually disappears from the world for most of the day. And if something goes wrong about his creator, he will never get a chance to exist again.
He found himself appearing in Varrock east bank out of nowhere, with no knowledge about his previous disappearance at all. Within a few thoughts, he told the banker to retrieve his rune pickaxe, then he went off to the mines for pure essence.
Mining was uneventful, except that some people like talking gibberish when they mine. Occasionally some would talk to Riv, but Riv felt it's simply not worthy to talk about something nonsense (for example, how inept a rock crab is).
After Riv got some 280 essences (in other words, after 10 mining runs), he felt he should make use of some of them, so he dressed himself with his favourite armour: Full addy. No one knows why he still stick with adamant when he's capable for full Dragon, maybe he believes that Guthix would bless him for his taste of fashion and forgive him about what he's going to do.
With some runs, tunnel diving, trench jumping and request to a certain red-hooded creepy guy, Riv found himself in the so-called abyss, struggling to the inner ring while tons of leeches tried to suck his blood through the boots. He knew these little creeps had some goodies inside their body, but Riv thought nothing about chopping them into pieces. Instead, he just made his way with the rocks he brought, and rifted himself to an altar in a very confusing dimension. There, he fused some Chaos energy on the runes.
Riv also brought five pre-crafted runes. He didn't know exactly why, but he thought using tablets does not conform with dignity. He wanted to teleport himself around whenever he could practise his magic skills thorough it. And the next thing is, he's in the busy city of Varrock again.
Of course, the above cycle was not the most interesting thing one could come up with, so Riv wished to do something else cause he got bored. Unfortunately, when he felt so, he no longer knows what's going on about him or the world. And the banker in front of him only saw yet another armoured adventurer disapparing in a blink, out of any reason.
Well, even the author can't help but think why someone would exist in such a miserable way. But if everyone lives in such an endless bore, the world would never exist with all those stories and challenges. We will look further in Riv's life, but for now, let's take a break.
