THE EVIL OF THE DALEKS
By Allan North

Deep in Waterfield's store
there was a silver safe
next to the controls for a time-jump,
the only means of escape.

Unfortunate Kennedy, trying to break in,
when he sees a reflection and around he does spin,
and then, as he gazes on, he feels quite sick,
for he has come face to face with a Dalek eye-stick.

He tries to run, tires to escape, tries to get away,
but the Daleks catch him and make him pay.
The smell of electric death fills the air.
The Daleks don't smell it - Why should they care?

Now, dispose of the body, flesh, blood, and bone,
until, at last, again they are alone.
Until Waterfield returns with the Doctor and Jamie in tow,
and take off for the Victorian Era, where it all began,
so long ago.

Once there, Jamie is put through those awful tests,
each one more horrendous than the last.
Then, when it is done, the Doctor learns of the Dalek's evil plan-
To fill the Daleks with the cunning and strategy of a man.

Now to meet Victoria, that pretty 19th century girl,
who they have strived to rescue, now scared,
her brown hair in a slight curl.
Looking at the row of Daleks, paralyzed with fear,
As Jamie tries to reassure her not to worry, that he is here.

The three humanised daleks begin to come to life,
each one sure to bring horrible strife.
But just when it seemed that they'd all run wild,
fear turns to joy, for each acts like a young child.

Now all went to a certain planet,
as a bomb in the lab rang out loud,
bruying it under a debris shroud.
Now on the face of Skaro proud.

All look round the desert parched,
the Emperor in one corner, in the other, an arch.
Maxtible now moves for what he sees,
Gold, the source of his lust, betrayal, and greed.

But as he crosses the arch, a ray strikes his neck,
turning him into a human Dalek.
Wanting only to kill, and being quite skilled at that,
Maxtible moves forward and shakes off his top hat,
now filled with the need to destory those
whom the Emperor oppose.

The Doctor is now to become a human Dalek,
Just as Maxtible was when shot in the neck.
He will return to Earth and breed a new Dalek race,
one that will ravage our planet's face.

The Doctor refuses to serve the Daleks,
but he himself is truck by the ray across his neck.
But he is not human; him it does not affect,
and he manages to humanise more Daleks.

Now Civil War rips the face of Skaro asunder,
As the Dalek's guns blast forth like thunder.
And one word each Dalek continues to grate;
As word spreads that the Emperor is dead---EXTERMINATE!!!

The Doctor, Jamie, and Victoria get away,
each mourning the death of
Waterfield the hero
earlier in the day.

Now, they wonder what will come next,
and what will become of them,
as the TARDIS spins toward Telos,
and the Tomb of the Cybermen.
