The young red-head glared, her bright green eyes piercing into the lavender ones of the boy in front of her. She panted heavily, clutching at her wounded arm.
Neji Hyuuga had won the spar. Again.
He smirked arrogantly.
"I told you, Juri. You can't win against me."
Juri glared, charging at him again with punches and kunai. Neji dodged her attacks effortlessly, his smug grin almost etched on to his face.
"It's no use. It is your destiny to lose to me."
"SHUT IT, DESTINY BOY!" she yelled ferociously, charging at the lavender-eyed boy once more, then changing from a punch to a kick –almost last minute.
The sudden change nearly caught the Hyuuga off-guard, and he managed to just barely catch her ankle.
Juri glared as he pushed her on to the ground. She fell on her butt and glared up at the Hyuuga.
"Your destiny is to lose to me. Always."
Juri cursed at him, before getting up and storming off.
No matter what she did, it was true. She could never win against him.
Juri trained diligently. She tried her best. Perhaps she didn't try as hard as Lee, but she still tried hard.
Juri was determined to surpass Neji.
But, deep down… She realized that she couldn't, unless she tried as hard as Lee.
And, to be quite honest, Juri didn't have the time to train as hard as Lee.
Because as soon as she got home, she was greeted with unpleasantness.
She opened the door slowly and quietly, determined not to catch the attention of her parents.
However, as usual, they were always waiting.
"Welcome home, darling…" slurred her mother. Her father smashed a bottle on the wall and charged at her.
"ORAAAAAAAA!"
Juri stayed still.
If she let him beat her, he'd finish quickly.
However, the door slammed open and a fist punched her father's attacking hand away. He groaned drunkenly as he fell over.
Juri looked around slowly and her eyes widened.
Behind her stood her rival, Neji Hyuuga.
And, boy, he was pissed off.
He glared furiously at her parents. Five seconds later, four ANBU agents arrived. The parents were immediately arrested.
Juri stood there silently, unsure of what to say.
"You think we didn't know?"
She looked at him as he looked at her emotionlessly.
"…" she said nothing.
He frowned.
"You think we honestly believed the lies you made about the bruises? Give me a little more credit than that."
Juri sighed and tried to walk to the stairs, but her arm was grabbed and she was spun around. Her face landed against a rock-hard chest. She looked up, blushing heavily, as Neji's eyes looked straight at her.
"Neji, it's nothing."
He glared and pushed her head towards his own from the back of her neck, and met her lips with his own. She gasped and then gave in, relaxing completely into him.
He broke it reluctantly after a while, and then smirked down at her.
"It's never nothing with you. Destiny has intended for you to be a complicated being… But, as usual, you lose to me."
Juri rolled her eyes with a small smile. He chuckled.
"Your Fate is to be with me forever."
"Now, that's a Fate I won't disagree to…"
