Chapter 1 The Wrong Way
The Doctor in his 10th incarnation, or 11th if you count the War Doctor, has been cruising around a few hours in deep space with a few of his companions including Captain Jack, Rose Tyler, and Martha. It's been quiet for a few days. The Doctor is sitting down in his room when Martha Walks in and approaches him. ''Hello Doctor.'' Said Martha. ''Hello Martha, how are you?'' Said The Doctor. ''I'm fine, I just wanted to ask you something.'' ''What is it Martha?'' ''What does Rose mean to you?'' ''I don't understand what you mean.'' ''I mean what's your relationship with her?'' ''Oh, well I consider her one of my best friends. She's always had my back, why do you ask?'' ''You seem to show her a lot of affection.'' Said Martha. ''I do that with everyone. Well as long as they're nice to me.'' Said The Doctor. ''Do you, you know?'' ''Do I what Martha?'' ''Do you love her Doctor?'' The Doctor is a little confused why Martha brought this up. ''I admit that in the past I've definitely had feelings for her. And she definitely had feelings for me.'' Martha notices the Doctor smirking. ''Oh wait I get it, you're jealous.'' Said The Doctor. ''What, I am not jealous.'' ''Oh yes you are, look at you, your cheeks are as red as strawberries.'' ''Shut up.'' ''Lighten up a little, I'm only joking.'' Said The Doctor. The conversation is stopped short when Jack walks in the room. ''Hey Doctor you got any aspirin?'' Said Jack. ''I have a little medical cabinet over that way. Help yourself Jack.'' Said The Doctor. ''Thanks I got this real headache.'' ''Well that's what you get when you use a vortex manipulator. The time vortex can really change you.'' Said The Doctor. Jack opens the cabinet and takes the aspirin, he then walks out of the room saying goodbye. ''Another thing, where did you find that guy?'' Said Martha. ''Jack, he's awesome.'' Said The Doctor. ''He's always flirting with everyone we meet.'' ''Don't feel special he does that with everyone. Trust me, he'll grow on you.'' Martha moves in a little closer to The Doctor. ''I miss it when it was just you and me.'' Said Martha. This time The Doctor moves in a little bit closer. ''Well maybe one of these days just you and I could go out.'' Said The Doctor. The Doctor places his hand on Martha's face. ''I think I'd like that.'' Said Martha. The Doctor manages to act. The Doctor begins to kiss Martha. You could have given here a million years and Martha would have never saw this coming. ''You're a pretty good kisser Martha.'' The Doctor is about to give Martha another kiss but then the door opens. The Doctor sees Rose so he quickly backs away from Martha. ''Doctor could you, what's going on in here?'' Said Rose. The Doctor acts quickly not wanting to create a bad situation. ''Nothing Rose, Martha and I were just discussing the destination of the Tardis.'' ''Oh, well where are we going then?'' Said Rose. ''It's a surprise.'' Said Martha. ''Oh, well you know I like surprises.'' Said Rose. ''Bye Doctor, bye Martha.'' Rose leaves the room. ''That was a close one.'' Said The Doctor. ''Why does it matter if she knows or not?'' Said Martha. ''You know why.'' Said The Doctor. Martha turns away. ''Yeah I know why.'' Martha leaves the room with an angry look on her face. The Doctor is about to stop her but the Tardis begins to shake rapidly throwing him to the ground. The shaking goes on for a few more minutes then randomly stops. Jack runs into the room with a panicked look on his face. ''Doctor what the hell was that?'' Said Jack. ''I don't know, the Tardis just started shaking, are you alright?'' Jack walks out of the room to check out Rose and Martha. ''We're all fine.'' Said Jack. ''Good, let me check the Guidance system and see where we are.'' The Doctor looks at the system and is for once in a long time confused. ''What?'' Said The Doctor. ''What is it Doctor?'' Said Martha. ''Rose you remember that time we traveled to a parallel dimension?'' Rose looks at The Doctor with that look on her face that says ''I know what you're going to say next.'' ''Doctor you're joking right?'' Said Jack. ''Far from it, we've somehow traveled to a completely different reality.'' The Doctor is silent for a few seconds until he sees everyone looking at him. ''Sounds fun.'' Said The Doctor. ''No! This is not fun how the Hell do you think that's fun?'' Said Martha. ''Well it's been a while since this has happened to me.'' ''Besides this universe has its own Earth we might as well go check that out and see what's changed.'' The Doctor walks over o he controls and before he pulls the lever he says. ''Allons-y!'' With his catchphrase spoken The Doctor pulls the lever and The Tardis heads straight towards Earth. ''Doctor are you sure this is a good idea?'' Said Jack. ''Absolutely not. But hey you never know.'' Everyone knows their at their destination when there is a large crashing sound. Once again everyone is on the floor. ''Well that went well.'' Said The Doctor. The Doctor looks over to Martha to see her bleeding from here head. The Doctor wastes no time rushing over to her so he can treat her wound. ''Jack get me my first aid.'' Said Martha. ''Are you alright?'' Said The Doctor. ''Yeah I'm fine, don't worry so much.'' ''It's kind of hard not to, you know I.'' Before The Doctor can finish Rose walks over. ''Martha are ok?'' Said Rose. ''Yes I'm fine.'' Jack walks over with the First aid kit. Martha walks Jack through on how to treat her wound. ''All right now that's done with let's check outside see what's different.'' The Doctor notices Jack pick up his gun. Jack notices The Doctor notice him. ''Relax it's on safety.'' Said Jack. ''Just try not to shoot anyone.'' ''Relax I won't, probably.'' The Doctor attempts to open the door but it won't budge. He calls Jack over to assist in opening it. When that doesn't work Martha and Rose help. They push so hard when The Door does open The Doctor shoots right out of it. His three companions get out of the Tardis to help him to his feet. ''Thanks, now where are we?'' Said The Doctor. The Doctor looks around at the new territory to see a large amount of destruction. Buildings torn down or on fire, bodies whether they are human or alien. Everyone is more than a little concerned. ''Looks like we showed up at a bad time. Let me get my gun out'' Said Jack. ''Yeah might want to take safety off Jack.'' Said Rose. ''Way ahead of you Rose.'' ''Relax I don't hear any noises, maybe things have calmed down.'' Said The Doctor. The Doctor has never been good at timing. This is especially shown when five figures suddenly appear out of nowhere right in front of the four friends. The Doctor takes his time to analyze the five. They're all wearing rather strange clothes, even strange for The Doctor. When he regains his focus The Doctor is finally able to speak. ''So this is Earth, don't worry we'll be leaving now.'' Said The Doctor. The man wearing the strange suit points his hand at the four. ''No, I don't think you will be leaving.'' The Doctor is beginning to miss his old universe. Though he does find this new scenario rather thrilling and exciting. This'll bring a good number of adventures The Doctor thinks.
Chapter 2 Stranger Strangers
Iron man sits up gasping for air. ''What the hell, please tell me no one kissed me.'' Said Iron Man. ''Relax, we won.'' Said Captain America. ''Alright. Hey. Alright. Good job, guys. Let's just not come in tomorrow. Let's just take a day. Have you ever tried shawarma? There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don't know what it is, but I wanna try it.'' ''So what about Loki?'' Said Black widow. Bruce speaks up now a little more calmed down. ''Yeah don't worry I have a feeling he won't get up for a while.'' Said Bruce. ''Hey where's Clint.'' Said Iron Man. ''I'm up here.'' Everyone looks over to see Hawk eye sitting on the edge of a building. ''Hey be careful.'' Said Black widow. Even though She can't see him, Hawk eye gives the do you know who you're talking to face. ''Are you giving me the do you know who you're talking to face?'' ''Maybe.'' Clint says with a smirk. ''Besides we killed all the aliens. There is nothing more to be careful of.'' ''Uh Clint I wouldn't be so sure about that.'' Said Captain America. Clint turns around to see a Police Box heading right towards the building. ''Clint I hate to alarm you but that thing isn't stopping.'' Said Iron Man. Having no other options Clint jumps off the building just as the Box collides with it. The Police Box takes the entire building down creating a wave of dust and debris. Iron fly's over to Clint and catches him before he falls to his death. The Police Box then crashes down onto the road. Iron Man then lands on his feet and puts Clint down. ''Thanks for the save Tony. For a second there I thought I was gonna become red paint.'' ''Yeah well let's just say you owe me one.'' ''What the hell was that thing.'' Said Thor. ''Maybe some type of ship.'' Said Bruce. ''C'mon let's check it out.'' Said Black widow. ''Did anyone hear me, I said take the day off.'' Said Iron Man. ''Relax we'll go do that shawarma thing after we check this out.'' Said Bruce. Clint has already walked towards the Box having a little prejudice for it, seeing as it almost killed him. The other Avengers follow him. ''Hey guys I can hear voices coming from the other side of this thing.'' Said Clint. Iron man looks at Clint in confusion. ''How in the name of Hell is more than one person supposed to fit in there?'' The Avengers notice the door starts to open then immediately closes. ''This could be another one of Loki's tricks.'' Said Thor. Iron Man points with his fingers telling everyone to get into their positions. He has Clint hide behind the Police Box and jump out after he gives the signal. When the door finally does open a strangely dressed man falls out of it. When his allies get out of the Box and help him to his feet The Avengers jump out in front of them. ''So this is earth, don't worry we'll be leaving now.'' Said the man. Iron Man points his hand at the man. ''No you won't be leaving. Clint Now!'' Clint then jumps onto the Box and points his Bow and arrow at the four. ''So how about introductions, you start.'' Said Iron Man. ''Well I'm The Doctor, this is Rose, Martha, and Captain Jack. Now your turn who are you guys?'' ''Actually you know what I just needed to know who you guys are.'' Said Iron Man. ''Oh, well that's pretty rude.'' Said Rose. ''Well if you'll just let us back in our Tardis.'' Said The Doctor. ''Not so fast were going to have to have a look in that ship of yours.'' Said Black widow. ''Sorry but that's not happening.'' Said The Doctor. The Doctor snaps his finger which closes and locks the Tardis door. Jack then takes his gun out and points it at Iron man. ''The Doctor prefers to talk over violence, were different in that way.'' Said Jack. In defiance Iron Man takes a few steps forward. Jack responds by firing a few rounds into his suit. Jack expects a kill but is disappointed to see Iron Man get up without a scratch. ''Bad move you dented my suit.'' Iron man points his hand at Jacks chest and fires. When Jack is hit he gets knocked back and hits the side of the Tardis. ''Jack!'' Shouts The Doctor. ''Tony that's a little unnecessary.'' Said Captain America. ''Relax I aimed at non vital organs.'' ''He could still bleed out.'' Said Martha. ''If you come with us we can promise you a medic.'' Said Bruce. The Doctor looks at the Tardis and is about to refuse the offer but then looks at Jack. ''Fine but this better not take long we have somewhere to be.'' Said The Doctor. ''This won't take long.'' Said Tony. Tony calls in some type of advanced helicopter to pick up the strangers and take them to the carrier. In the helicopter ride The Doctor looks down at the city wondering what could have done this. ''What happened down there, why does New York look like it got seriously attacked?'' Said The Doctor. ''Like you don't know.'' Said Clint. ''You think we had something to do with this?'' Said Martha. ''Well let's see first aliens attack, then out of nowhere a Police Box crashes into a building and takes the whole thing down and nearly kills Clint, yeah we do.'' Said Tony. When they land on the carrier security takes them out of the helicopter and escorts them. Rose notices that The Doctor is looking very closely at his surroundings almost as though he has a plan for escape. ''What are you thinking Doctor.'' Said Rose. ''Security is off the charts this is clearly a government freighter, I need some time to plan things out.'' Before The Doctor can continue the conversation he is dragged out from the group. ''Hey where are you taking him?'' Said Rose. Roses question isn't even answered. The Doctor is dragged into a room where he is handcuffed to a chair. The Doctor realizes that his pockets were not checked so he pulls out his Sonic Screwdriver and gets his cuffs off. When he sees someone enter the room he makes it seem like he is still wearing them. The Doctor takes a close look at this man. ''Hello my name is Nick Fury.'' ''Hello I'm The Doctor.'' ''Nice to meet you Doctor. Now according to what Stark said you attempted to kill one of my best shots.'' ''No it's all a misunderstanding.'' ''It's kind of hard to believe that it's a coincidence that something like that happens during an alien attack.'' ''Well it's true.'' ''Look we're going to have to do some more talking with you and your friends. It'll take a couple hours.'' ''Yeah I don't think so.'' The Doctor takes the handcuffs and puts them around Nicks left arm and the table. ''What the Hell do you think your doing?'' ''Sorry Nick but I don't have a couple hours.'' The Doctor makes sure the coast is clear then heads out the door. ''Ok they must have holding cells around here somewhere.'' Said The Doctor. When The Doctor reaches the end of the hallway he is stopped by a woman. ''Oh hi there.'' Said The Doctor. ''Who are you, I haven't seen you around here before.'' The Doctor uses his psychic paper so he can make a fake identity badge. ''John Smith, I was just looking for where those new prisoners are being held.'' ''Oh, there right through that door.'' ''Thank you ma'am.'' The Doctor heads towards where the woman told him to. Seeing the door he heads through it. The Doctor is surprised to see that his friends have already taken care of things. ''Oh you guys knocked the guards out.'' ''Yes we did. Why are you disappointed?'' Said Jack. ''I just wanted to try out some new conversation methods.'' Said The Doctor. Martha only now realizes that The Doctor has entered the room. ''Doctor!'' Martha runs right over to The Doctor and combines her lips with his. In the middle of kissing Martha The Doctor spots Rose with her head down. ''So Doctor know anyway out of here.'' Said Jack. ''No I do not. You know how to fly a helicopter Jack?'' ''If you can get one running sure.'' ''Alright good let's go.'' When the conversation ends all four friends walk out the door and try to find their way outside. They try to avoid as much contact as possible, hiding behind walls, and waiting in rooms. After a little traversing they reach the outside of the carrier. The Doctor spots something that slightly resembles a helicopter and sends Jack over to start it up. ''Here Jack use my Sonic, just point and think.'' Jack uses the Screwdriver to start the flying vehicle. ''Good job Jack, now let's get out of here.'' Said The Doctor. Before The Doctor gets in the helicopter he sees an arrow has been shot next to him. He turns around to see Hawk eye behind him with a few guards. ''Where do you think you're going?'' Said Hawk eye. ''Just going out for a drink, don't worry we'll be back.'' Said The Doctor. ''I don't think so.'' Hawk eye puts four arrows in his one bow, all pointing at a different person. ''I'll give you to the count of three.'' ''One, Two.'' ''Three.'' Said Jack pointing and shooting his gun at Hawk eye and the two guards. Jack only gets off a few rounds before his gun jams. Two of the bullets enter the head of one guard killing him. The other guard gets a few bullets in her arms and legs but is only disabled. Hawk eye however successfully dodged all of the bullets coming towards him. During the fire Hawk eye dropped three of his four arrows. Using his remaining arrow he fires it into the shoulder of The Doctor. Seeing that his friend has been shot Jack tosses the gun at Hawk eye and tackles him. Clint responds with a punch in Jacks face, then kneeing him in the gut. The Doctor walks over to the crippled guard and takes her handgun. He fires one shot in the air to get everyone's attention. ''Back off, I don't want to hurt you.'' Said The Doctor. ''Relax you won't.'' Hawk eye readies for another shot but Jack smacks him with the butt of his gun. Hawk eye then puts Jack on the ground and begins to stab at him with his arrow. The arrow is right at Jack's eye but then suddenly retracts. Jack looks up to see that Hawk eye has been shot by The Doctor. Jack stands up and faces The Doctor. ''Thanks.'' The Doctor has a blank look on his face. ''Doctor are you OK?'' The Doctor has a grim look on his face. ''I'm fine, let's just get out of here.'' The three companions know for a fact that The Doctor is definitely not fine.
Chapter 3 Relocation
It was hard for The Doctor and his companions to adjust to the new earth. For one the Tardis had been taken by Shield, luckily The Doctor locked it meaning they had no way in. Before they can get the Tardis back they needed a place to stay. Luckily Jack knew ATMS are no match for a Sonic Screwdriver. Martha, Rose, and Jack have adjusted to this new Earth. But The Doctor is still eager to get back to his own universe. He's currently sitting on a couch looking through SHIELD files, which he hacked his way through. The Doctor can only imagine what SHIELD is trying to do to his Tardis. The Doctor is so stressed out that he doesn't even notice that he shouts words out. This draws the attention of Martha who is the only other person currently in the house, Jack and Rose are out getting food. ''Doctor are you ok?'' ''What, oh yes I'm fine. I just feel like I'm stuck is all. Like I've failed you, Jack, and Rose. I'm sorry for getting you in this mess.'' ''Doctor you're trying your best.'' ''Martha two weeks ago I shot and killed a man in cold blood. I just didn't know what to do. What would you have done?'' ''Well it was him or Jack. I say you made the right choice.'' ''I found him in these files. His name is Clint, he had a family.'' ''Don't think about that Doctor.'' Martha musters up a conversation she has been holding back. ''Doctor, when I hit my head and I told you not to worry about me you were about to say why you do worry about me. Why do you?'' The Doctor doesn't waste any time getting his next words out. ''Because I love you.'' Once again Martha is stunned. She just expected The Doctor to say something nice, but not that nice. She's so stunned she doesn't notice The Doctor move in closer. Then he kisses her. It's the most passionate kiss Martha had ever received. Martha grabs The Doctors shoulder and brings him in closer. She's scared she's suffocating the Time Lord so she pulls her lips from his. The Doctor looks at Martha and sees an unfamiliar look on her face. ''Oh no, that's the I wish you didn't kiss me face isn't it?'' Martha smiles. ''No Doctor that's the I want more face.'' The Doctor is both happy, and overly terrified. ''Want more of what?'' ''How about I tell you in my room.'' The Doctor was wrong, he doesn't feel happy and terrified, he just feels terrified, but in a good way. Before we get to that let's see Jack and Rose currently getting a pizza. ''They don't have these pizza places in our universe, you should be excited.'' Said Rose. ''It's just pizza.'' ''Don't you ever say that.'' Jack and Rose don't know it but while they are ordering pizza two Avengers currently reside at a few tables away. Tony and Natasha are seeing what their up to. ''Tony, why the hell haven't we killed them yet?'' ''Fury said we need to learn more about these guys.'' ''Maybe you've forgotten but they killed Clint!'' ''He was my friend too.'' The arguing continues until Jack and Rose walk over to their table. ''Hey can I ask you two a question?'' Said Rose. ''Oh shit.'' Tony said in his head. ''Can we sit here?'' Tony and Natasha are both relieved that neither of them remember their faces. ''Yeah sure go ahead.'' Said Natasha. Both Rose and Jack sit down with thankful looks on their faces. ''Thanks we're not use to this kind of restaurant.'' Said Jack. ''Oh you two from out of town?'' Said Tony. ''Yeah you could say that.'' ''What do you mean by that?'' Rose tells Tony about how She and Jack are usually located in London. Jack of course has to try his flirting out on Natasha, because well it's Jack. Rose gets so in deep with the conversation that he accidentally invites the two over to the house. Jack's fine with this though he'll get another chance with Natasha. Meanwhile back at the house things have escalated between Martha and The Doctor. It's all interrupted with a phone call from Jack. ''Man he always has great timing.'' Said Martha. The Doctor answers the phone. ''Hey Doctor how are you?'' ''Oh I'm good Jack you know I'm just fine really great.'' ''Doctor I'm full aware of what's happening. Trust me I can hear the heavy breathing.'' ''Jack, your not on speaker are you?'' Jack looks at Rose in the car realizing what The Doctor means. ''No, don't worry you're fine, go ahead continue. Oh yeah we have some guests coming over.'' ''What! I told you two no company while we're stuck in the wrong universe. The Doctor is about to yell but the warmth of Martha's body calms him down. The Doctor says bye and hangs up. ''I think it would be nice to meet the people of this Earth.'' Said Martha. ''The first people we met attacked us, then kidnapped us, then we were forced to escape from them. I for one stand on my point.'' After giving The Doctor another kiss Martha stands up to put her clothes on. When Rose and Jack get back to the house their new friends follow them in. ''Nice place you got here.'' Said Natasha. ''Thanks, we only moved in recently.'' Said Rose. The Doctor and Martha walk in to meet their new guests. Martha greets them both with a handshake. The Doctor on the other hand is a little insulted. He almost immediately recognizes them, but if he's going to get his Tardis back he has to play dumb. ''Hello there my name is John Smith, nice to meet you.'' ''Hello John Smith I hear you're new to New York.'' ''More than that, we're new to America. Well this America a least.'' ''What's that supposed to mean?'' ''Uhh.'' ''We've only seen South America.'' Said Martha. ''Yeah that's right.'' ''Oh, well welcome to our country.'' Said Natasha. Tony and Natasha continue the conversation pretending not to know the four. And The Doctor pretends not to know them. The conversation lasts a good two more hours. The Doctor and Tony are both annoyed wanting it to end as soon as possible. ''Hey John you got any beer?'' Said Tony. ''Yeah, Jack bought a few a couple days back.'' The Doctor or John Smith gets two beers out of the fridge and hands one to Tony. ''Hey can we talk outside?'' Said Tony. The Doctor knows what happens next. ''Sure, looks like our friends are having a fun time talking.'' Tony opens the door and signals for The Doctor to go first. The Doctor is hesitant but he goes because he doesn't want to endanger his friends. As soon as Tony closes the door he reveals his hand which now has his glove on it. Tony pins The Doctor up against the wall taking the breath out of him. ''Look, I know who you are. I know you've probably done your research on me and my team. I sure as Hell hope you did your research on Clint.'' The Doctor attempts to let out words but still can't breathe. ''When I let go of you I want you to tell me why you're here, and who you really are. When Tony let's go The Doctor falls to the ground. ''Well, who are you?'' The Doctor stands with a bright look in his eye. ''I'm The Doctor. I'm a Time Lord. From the planet Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasterborous. And I'm 900 years old.'' Tony begins to laugh but when he looks closely at The Doctors face he knows he's serious. ''Oh and don't worry I know about you and all your Avenger friends. I know you have my Tardis and I plan on taking it back. I can assure you I don't want things to get violent between us. But don't think that I won't if necessary.'' ''Is that all?'' ''Yes.'' Tony and Natasha leave the house Tony prepared for war. When The Doctor walks back in the house he is greeted by Martha. ''They were nice Doctor we should invite them over again. The Doctor looks over at Jack, Jack signaling him to go into the kitchen. ''Yeah maybe.'' The Doctor hurries into the kitchen so he may speak with Jack. ''So Jack you also noticed who they were right?'' ''Oh yeah, don't worry I remember the play dumb protocol.'' ''You figure the exact location of the Tardis yet?'' ''Yeah they're keeping it on that carrier they took us on.'' ''You know Doctor I could always get my Vortex Manipulator working.'' ''I thought it was broken and out of energy.'' ''It is, if you could find some type of energy source I might be able to get it working. Then we can definitely get your Tardis.'' The Doctor is glad to here he can get his Tardis back. ''I'll see what I can do. In the meantime you keep your eye out on those Avengers.'' The Doctor suspects that a war is coming.
Chapter 4 Recovery
It's been a few months since Tony and Natasha visited The Doctor. After looking over what was left of the Shield files, The Doctor found out about an energy source that could power the Vortex Manipulator, Vibranium. Of course it had to be the most rare material on Earth. Luckily Shield seems to have a small supply of this source of energy. Jack had the idea of attacking a transport and hoping that it had Vibranium in it. But The Doctor had a better idea. Martha and him would go to Shield headquarters posing as employes. Martha agreed with the idea, mainly because she gets to wear a cute suit. Jack's currently working on making the fake ID badges. It'll be another two hours until they're done so The Doctor, Martha, and Rose sit on the couch together watching a rather brilliant Television show. The Doctor sits in the middle of the two ladies. ''Hey Doctor?'' Said Rose. ''What do you need?'' ''Why John Smith?'' Rose is referring to The Doctors alter ego, which he seems to always use when he needs to hide his identity. ''Well I've just gotten used to that as my fake name.'' The Doctor moves his attention back to the television. ''Man this Sherlock fellow is very clever. Kind of reminds me of someone.'' Said The Doctor. ''This universe has some pretty lame shows.'' Said Martha. ''What, how can you not like this?'' Said The Doctor. '' ''It's predictable, you always know what's about to happen.'' ''Want to watch something else then?'' ''I have an idea. Let's go out.'' Said Rose. ''That sounds like a wonderful idea. What do you think about that Doctor?'' The Doctor has already left the room to tell Jack that they'll be back soon. ''Oh I guess he agrees.'' Said Martha. ''Hang on a second girls let me get my good coat.'' ''Oh no.'' Said Rose. ''What? What's his good coat?'' The Doctor walks out of his room to reveal himself wearing his 6th incarnations colorful coat. ''What do you ladies think?'' ''Looks like a rainbow threw up on you.'' Said Martha. ''Ah good, just the look I was going for.'' With all that settled the three leave the house and head out to explore New York. At first they're a little disappointed. The only thing they can seem to find is trash and muggers. But then a certain building catches their attention. ''Doctor I don't think you should go in there.'' Said Rose. ''Why what's wrong with a nightclub?'' ''It's not that. It's the way you dance.'' Said Martha. The Doctor gets an angry look on his face. ''I'm a little offended. I can't believe you don't like my dancing. Fine let's just go then.'' The Doctor begins to walk away. ''Wait. We're sorry. We won't make fun of you.'' ''Promise?'' ''Promise.'' With that The Doctor rushes inside the nightclub. He immediately falls in love with it. The amazing colors, the happy faces, and most of all the music. The Doctor turns to Rose and Martha. ''So what should we do now?'' ''let's sit down and have a drink.'' Said Rose. ''Sounds good to me.'' Said Martha. The Doctor finds three conveniently open chairs next to the small bar. ''So what would you like to drink? It's my treat tonight.'' Said The Doctor. ''You can choose for us Doctor.'' Said Martha. ''OK.'' The Doctor orders three of the same drinks. ''Cheers.'' Said Rose. ''Cheers.'' Said Martha. Allons-y.'' Everyone finishes their drink at the exact same time. Martha and The Doctor are fine but Rose is a little shaky now. ''How about another?'' Said The Doctor. Once again The Doctor orders the three same drinks. After doings another round of cheers they drink again. This time The Doctor notices Roses amount of shakiness. ''Are you alright Rose?'' ''Hm what do you mean?'' Said Rose. ''Guess your alcohol tolerance level has gone down over the years.'' Said Martha. ''No, no, I'm fine really.'' Rose begins to hiccup uncontrollably. ''Doctor she is definitely not fine.'' ''Yeah you two were right. Guess we're not nightclub material.'' ''No it's OK, you two stay, I don't want to ruin the fun, I'll call in a cab driver.'' ''I don't know Rose. Are you sure you'll be alright?'' Said The Doctor. ''Yes I'll be fine.'' The Doctor gets up out of his feet and helps carry Rose outside, Martha waits on him to get back. The Doctor tells Rose the driver will be here soon. The Doctor is about to re enter the nightclub when Rose stops him. ''Hey Doctor?'' ''Yes Rose.'' ''Thanks.'' ''For what?'' ''For always being my friend. For showing me that aliens exist. And for showing me my best friend.'' The Doctor smiles and hugs Rose. ''Anytime Rose Tyler.'' With that in order The Doctor heads back inside. He spots Martha sitting down where she last was. ''Man, last time her and I drank, I was always the one who passed out.'' Said The Doctor. ''Well Doctor people change.'' Martha stands up and raps her arms around The Doctor. ''Care to dance Doctor?'' ''Why certainly.'' The Doctor then raps his arms around Martha. They begin to slow dance to the music. Martha watches in amazement as The Doctors dancing matches perfectly to the rhythm. ''I guess you've been practicing Doctor.'' The Doctor smiles. Martha and The Doctor have a wonderful time dancing. They go threw another five songs before they finally stop. They go back to sit on they're chairs. ''Phew, you've really improved in your dancing ability Doctor.'' ''Thanks Martha. I'm going to get another drink.'' ''Oh get me one too.'' The Doctor orders himself and Martha another drink, something a little stronger this time. Then they get another, and another. Then they're back to dancing. Everyone in the building focuses they're attention onto the two. The Doctor enjoys every second of it. Until of course he passes out. Then the enjoyment kind of goes away. His sleeping state doesn't last long as he wakes up in a dark room. The Doctor wonders how he got there. Scanning the pitch black walls the only thing The Doctor can fine is a scratched wooden door. ''Ah, I'm dreaming.'' The Doctor realizes. The Doctor goes along with this dream and opens the door. In the room he finds two chairs, one of which is occupied. The Doctor walks over to the chairs and sees who the figure is. ''Ah hello Doctor.'' Said The Man. ''Hello, do I know you?'' ''Basically you do.'' The man begins to stand up and walk around in a circle. ''It's been a while since I've seen you, Doctor.'' ''I guess it's nice to see you, stranger.'' ''Don't worry, it makes sense that you wouldn't remember me. Anyway I have something important to tell you.'' ''What do you have to tell me?'' The Stranger puts his hand on The Doctors shoulder. ''I love you.'' ''What!?'' ''Ha just kidding. I really need to tell you that the universe your currently in is in danger.'' ''In danger of what?'' ''Now Doctor, no spoilers. I'll just say this. Get your Tardis as soon as possible.'' ''Wait, tell me more!'' Everything goes white, then black. The Doctor feels a sharp pain in his head. Was he shot, perhaps drugged? Nope, hangover, one of his firsts. The Doctor finds himself in an unfamiliar location. He's in a bed that definitely isn't his. The headache won't be going away anytime soon. ''I couldn't have drinken that much.'' Said The Doctor wondering how he got there. Things become more strange when he sees Martha lying next to him. ''I retract that, I did drink a lot, a lot.'' The Doctor has mixed emotions about the situation he is in. On one hand he's with the woman he's developed feelings for. But on the other he doesn't know if he wanted this. The Doctor doesn't know how to continue. ''Maybe I can just slip out.'' The Doctor thinks. Just as The Doctor begins to move he can feel the soft hand of Martha on his arm. The Doctor turns around to see Martha with a smile on her face. ''You going anywhere Doctor?'' The Doctor is able to find the right words to use. ''Oh, nowhere in particular, just going to find out where we are.'' ''What do you mean? It was you who brought me here.'' The Doctor knows he must have brought her here when he was intoxicated. ''I think that was the alcohol talking.'' The Doctor notices Martha has a disappointed look on her face. ''So you didn't mean anything you said, Doctor?'' ''Well that depends on what I said.'' Martha sits up with an unfamiliar look on her face. ''You said you loved me.'' The Doctor smiles. ''You know I do.'' ''No, I mean do you really love me? You know like want to be with me love me?'' The Doctor is unsure of what he should say next. Martha doesn't expect him to continue. ''I would definitely like that. The question is would you like that, Martha?'' Martha stands up and gives a serious look on her face. ''Of course I'd like that, I'd absolutely love that.'' ''So would I, let's do it.'' Martha shows a happy expression on her face. It fades away when Martha realizes something. ''What about Rose and Jack?'' ''We'd take them with us. They are our friends after all.'' ''You think Rose will be find with us being together?'' Said Martha. ''Well let's keep it a secret. Just for a little while though. But in the meantime. Have you seen my pants?'' Martha laughs and begins to help The Doctor find his pants. After they are fully clothed The Doctor and Martha leave they're room. The Doctor figures they walked here. Might as well do the same to get to they're house. It takes a good few minutes of walking but eventually The Doctor and Martha arrive at their destination. When they enter they are immediately greeted by Rose. She pulls them both into a tight and unbreakable hug. ''Me and Jack were so worried, I was about to call the cops!'' Jack has just now entered into the main room, when he sees his friends have returned he joins in the group hug. ''I get it I'm a popular Time Lord. But I think it's best if we stop this hug. I can't feel anything in my body. And trust me I like it when it's not being crushed.'' After a quick laugh everyone releases. ''It's good to know you both are OK.'' Said Jack. ''I appreciate your worrying Jack.'' Said Martha. ''Don't mention it. Oh and those ID tags are done.'' ''Oh great. So Doctor when are we heading to the Shield headquarters anyway?'' ''We'll be heading there 8AM sharp tomorrow. Don't forget to pack your best suit.'' ''I hope you won't be wearing that suit Doctor, it's all colorful.'' Said Martha. ''You have to admit that it was extremely stylish though. Right Martha, right?'' ''No Doctor, no.''
Chapter 5 Vibranium
With all of the required materials, The Doctor and Martha can now enter the Shield headquarters. They have Jack drive them to the outside of the building then park. Jack turns to his two friends in the back seat. ''Remember you two, if you get in any trouble give me a call. I'll make short work of these guys.'' ''I told you Jack there won't be any need for violence. As long as Martha and I keep our fake identities there won't be any need for violence.'' ''Just don't get killed Doctor.'' ''Have faith in us Jack.'' Said Martha. After saying a final goodbye Martha and The Doctor exit the vehicle. After exchanging smiles to each other they enter the building. They hold up their badges so they won't be suspicious. The Doctor pulls Martha around a corner so he can talk to her in silence. ''Ok you go find out what you can about Vibranium and where we can fine it in here. I'll go and do the same.'' The Doctor is about to pull away but Martha keeps him in. She shares a kiss with him ''Good luck Doctor, and stay safe.'' The Doctor smiles and then runs off. The Doctor decides that in order to find out where the Vibranium is he has to do what he is best at, talking. The Doctor takes his time finding the perfect person to talk to. He settles for a woman standing near a counter with a cup of coffee. He approaches her with a smile on his face. ''Hello I'm The Doctor.'' The Doctor immediately regrets saying those four words. ''You're The Doctor? Your badge says John smith.'' ''Right. My name is John Smith and I'm working as A Doctor.'' Nice save The Doctor thinks to himself. ''Well my names Samantha, I work with all the computers. I haven't really seen a lot of Doctors in the workplace.'' ''Oh, well Shield is trying out some new, tactics I guess you could say.'' ''Why haven't I heard of this yet?'' The Doctor quickly changes the subject. ''What are you drinking?'' 'Great' The Doctor thinks, 'The one thing I shouldn't have said.' The Doctor expects a suspicious look but instead his question is answered. ''It's coffee. Have you never tried it before?'' ''No, personally I'm more of a tea man.'' ''Want to try some.'' Samantha holds out her cup offering it to The Doctor. ''Sure, why not.'' The Doctor takes the glass and takes a good drink of it. The Doctor quickly turns towards a trash can and spits the awful drink out. ''Bloody hell. That right there is poison. Pure poison.'' Samantha has a confused look on her face. ''You're an adult and you don't like coffee?'' ''I'm more of a tea guy.'' Samantha lets out a laugh. ''What?'' ''John, how can you like tea.'' ''What do you mean?'' ''Tea is the worst.'' ''Wow. Just wow.'' ''You're a pretty funny guy John Smith.'' The Doctor lets out a smirk. ''I guess I am.'' The Doctor takes the opportunity to learn information about Vibranium. ''Have you heard anything about Vibranium, Samantha?'' ''Hm? Oh that super rare material. Yeah it was brought in by one of our shipments. Pretty cool looking stuff.'' ''Where do they store it?'' The Doctor fears that he was too quick to ask. ''Downstairs in the storage room. It's kind of hard to miss it.'' The Doctor now has his required information. ''Thank you Samantha.'' ''For what?'' ''For the coffee.'' The Doctor rushes down the flight of stairs and completely forgets to tell Martha about his new found information. When he reaches the bottom he spots the door. The Doctor is a little disappointed to see that there are two security guards in front of the door. 'OK time to use my charm'. The Doctor thinks to himself. The Doctor approaches the men with a normal look on his face. ''Sorry sir you don't have access to this room.'' Said one of the guards. The Doctor holds out his psychic paper. ''John Smith. I was instructed to check over the contents of the room.'' One of the men takes a long look over the forged identity. ''Yep he's clear for passage. Head on in sir.'' After nodding to the armed man The Doctor enters into the room. The Doctor finds himself in a large room with silver metal walls. He's surprised by how organized the items are. There are entire racks for weapons, and undiscovered items. The Doctor searches what seems to be the full room. He can't find the Vibranium anywhere in the room. He searches every square inch but it's nowhere to be found. The Doctor then thinks 'This is a relatively rare material. They wouldn't just leave it somewhere anyone could pick it up.' The Doctor makes one last scan of the room. He spots a locked metal container. 'Jackpot' The Doctor thinks. The Doctor quickly moves toward the interesting looking safe. ''Alright, well you're clearly locked. Nothing a Sonic can't fix.'' The Doctor equips his Sonic Screwdriver and points and thinks at the safe. The safe opens very quickly startling The Doctor making him fall to the floor. When The Doctor regains his footing he stares into the safe. He sees the magnificent and beautiful glow of the both rare and powerful material. The Doctor finds it fascinating. It's unlike anything he's seen before. He's hesitant to pick it up at first. The Doctor then grabs the rare material. ''I can see what's so special about you. Now let's get out of here.'' The Doctor puts the Vibranium in a concealed pocket so that he won't be caught. He turns to leave but is stopped by a woman. The Doctor holds up his psychic paper to confirm who he is. ''I was just looking over things. Don't worry I'll be leaving now.'' The Doctor attempts to open the door but receives a strong punch to his face. It causes him to lose his footing and topple over. The Doctor uses one of the weapon racks to help him regain his balance. He stares at the mysterious woman. He attempts to identify her. ''Wait I remember you. Natasha wasn't it?'' The Doctor then receives two more fresh jabs across his face. Once again The Doctor tumbles down. Natasha doesn't even give him a chance to regain his balance, picking The Doctor up and throwing him against the wall. This time when The Doctor gets back up he retreats to the back of the room. ''Stop for a second would you.'' The Doctor finds himself backed against a wall stuck in a corner. He notices that Natasha has stopped moving. ''OK good. Now you obviously remember me and what I did.'' Natasha points her gun at The Doctor's head. ''And I'm sorry for that. But it was him or me and my friends. If you let me go I promise you won't see any of us again.'' Natasha doesn't make a response. ''What do you say?'' Natasha points her gun at The Doctors chest and pulls the trigger. But nothing comes out of it. She continues to pull the trigger but it continues not to fire. ''What did you do to my gun?'' ''I soniced it. You can never be to careful. But you don't need to worry about that. All you need to worry about is Martha.'' ''What?'' Natasha realizes what The Doctor means when she feels a sharp pain in her head. Natasha collapses to the ground knocked unconscious. Martha walks over to The Doctor. ''You didn't think that maybe you should have told me that you found the Vibranium?'' ''Yeah that's bad on my part. Think you could help me outside?'' Martha takes The Doctors arm and helps him walk. ''She really hurt you Doctor.'' ''Oh I'm alright. Just bleeding a little internally. No big deal.'' ''All these years and you haven't lost your sense of humor.'' Martha then opens the door to the room. The guards on the outside stop them. ''What the hell happened in there?'' Said one of the guards. ''Weapon malfunctions.'' Martha quickly runs away before she can be questioned furthered. On they're way up the stairs The Doctor quickly says hi and goodbye to Samantha. When they exit the building they see Jack in his car they enter it. Jack is happy to see them. ''So how did things go.'' Jack says seeing The Doctors wounds. ''Haha Jack shut up.'' ''So did you guys get the Vibranium we need?'' The Doctor pulls out the beautiful rock. Jack is amazed by it. ''It's beautiful. This thing can really power my Vortex manipulator?'' ''Trust me Jack it can do a hell of a lot more than that.''
Chapter 6 Taking back property
Obviously The Doctor and his companions don't feel very welcome in they're new found universe. With Jack's Time Vortex Manipulator repaired they can now get the Tardis back. There's only one problem. One Vortex Manipulator means only one person can travel to the Tardis. There's most likely a lot of security around The Tardis which makes everyone think Jack should go. But No one else knows how to pilot the Tardis except The Doctor. After arguing who should go they finally settle on a compromise. The Doctor will go but if he runs into trouble he'll come right back. Everyone is currently waiting outside of the house. ''So Doctor you sure you want to do this?'' Said Jack. ''Relax will you Jack? I'll come right back if there's any trouble.'' The Doctor turns his attention towards Rose. ''Do make it back in one piece Doctor.'' ''Oh Rose. Have I ever let you down before? Don't answer that.'' Finally The Doctor sees Martha. ''Why even go? We can have a happy life here Doctor. Why go through all of the trouble?'' ''Martha you know why.'' Martha turns away, upset. ''Martha I want to see you again. It'll be just you and me. I promise.'' The Doctor shares a hug with Martha. The Doctor readies his Vortex Manipulator. ''Hey Doctor. Say it once more.'' Said Martha. The Doctor gives a happy smile. ''Allons-y!'' The Doctor activates the Vortex Manipulator which whisks him away. The Doctor finds himself in the time vortex, not his ideal destination. After a few more seconds he arrives at the Tardises location. He falls to the floor of his new found location. The Doctor feels his head hit the metal floor. ''Ow. Should have ducked and rooled.'' The Doctor laughs at his own statement then lifts himself off of the floor. The Doctor looks around his Tardises prison. The room has metal walls, is dark and grey. The room can even be considered disturbing. The Doctor quickly spots his Tardis. ''My Tardis! Oh I've been hoping that they didn't do anything to you. Let's say you and I get out of here.'' The Doctor removes the key that he has kept safe for these long weeks and unlocks the Tardis. The Doctor feels a large portion of nostalgia. He hasn't seen the inside of the Tardis in a long while. ''Alright now to the others.'' The Doctor begins to set coordinates to his companions. He stops when he feels something cold on the back of his head. The barrel of a gun he presumes. ''I'm guessing this is Natasha?'' ''Yep. Turn around slowly.'' The Doctor obeys. He turns around to see all the faces he met when he first stepped into this universe. Tony Stark approaches out of his Armour. ''So this is what is on the inside.'' ''It's bigger on the inside.'' Steve says sporadically. ''Really I never noticed.'' The Doctor says ironically. ''Mind telling us what the hell this thing is Doctor?'' Said Tony. ''Do you want the short or long version?'' ''Short.'' ''You're in a time machine that can travel to any period or location in the universe.'' ''Ok first off, bullshit.'' ''Hey, you asked.'' ''Prove that it's a time machine.'' Said Bruce. ''Where do you all want to go?'' The Avengers huddle up and discuss their idea of a good location. ''We've decided that you should take us to the hindenburg just before it blows.'' ''Close the door then.'' The Doctor begins to set a new list of coordinates. With a flip of a switch they are off. ''Agh what's that noise.'' ''That's the Tardis we're currently traveling through space and time. ''Yeah sure we are.'' Said Tony. The Tardis stops. ''Just let me open these doors. When the doors open the Avengers are amazed. ''What the absolute Hell!'' Said Steve. ''You all might want to look up or you'll miss what you came for.'' The Avengers look up to see the massive zeppelin in all its glory. Seconds later it catches fire in a horrifying fashion. ''We can help them.'' Said Steve. ''Yeah take us further back.'' The Doctor sighs. ''No messing with time you'll cause a paradox.'' After explaining how a paradox works to everyone The Doctor enters the Tardis and takes everyone back to they're destination. ''So Doctor you travel the universe for a living?'' ''Well I travel my universe. I try to help out whoever I can.'' ''Oh so in your twisted universe you're the good guy?'' Said Tony. ''For the last damn time I'm sorry about your friend. I can't bring him back.'' ''Yes you can.'' Natasha counters. ''This is a time machine we could go back and save him.'' ''Don't you remember, paradox.'' Natasha slaps The Doctor across the face. ''Honestly I couldn't care less. She then puts her handgun to The Doctors forehead. ''Take us or I shoot you.'' The Doctor has a determined look on his face. ''Do you have any godly idea what you'll do to this universe? I'll never do it.'' Natasha points the gun at The Doctors heart. ''Last chance.'' ''NO!'' Natasha pulls the trigger causing the bullet to rip threw The Doctors heart. The Doctor falls to the ground and passes out. The Doctor fears that this might just be the end. He can feel his blood pouring out of body from the bullet wound. The Doctor then finds himself awake. He looks up to see Tony staring at him. 'You know these controls are complicated but hey nothing Bruce can't figure out.'' The Doctor realizes that the Tardis is in mid air, right above New York. ''I'm guessing you're going to throw me over?'' ''That's the plan. Think of it as payback for what you did to Clint. But don't worry we'll bring him back very soon.'' ''Tony Clint Paradox.'' The Doctors says spitting out blood. ''I don't care.'' Tony kicks The Doctor right out of the Tardis. The Doctor can barely react he's lost so much blood. The Doctor begins to accept his fate. 'Vortex manipulator' The Doctor thinks to himself. The Doctor reaches into his pocket and pulls out the mini time machine. The Doctor straps it onto his arm and without even setting a destination The Doctor activates it. When The Doctor reaches the other side he realizes the mistake he has made. The Doctor finds himself in a desert plain completely abandoned. ''I have to go back!'' The Doctor looks at the Vortex manipulator. It has been cracked, broken beyond repair. ''No no no no no this can't be how I.'' The Doctor cuts off mid sentence passing out from a lack of blood. It's been a while since something like this has happened to The Doctor. But it happens to everyone at one point or another. Failure. The Doctor has failed his friends and so much more. But who he failed the most was himself.
