Bunny Kisses

Small feet padded softly across the stony floor, despite the late hour. Even though the others had fallen asleep what seemed ages ago, something had kept the little turtle up.
Reaching the paper walls, the turtle gently, softly, slid it open, careful not to disturb anyone inside.
A few candles lit the somewhat dark room, giving it a cozy feel. Under the average sized tree, sat Splinter, in a deep trance of relaxation after a long day.
The little turtle, holding in a breath, tiptoed across the floor, strategically missing the creaky floorboards. Once he reached the unmoving master, the mutant plopped down, sitting next to Splinter.
Half open blue eyes momentarily shut as the tiny terrapin let out a tired yawn, stretching out his arms in the process.
"Leonardo?"
Said turtle looked sleepily at the ninjitsu master.
"What are you doing up?" Splinter asked, a small smile forming on his face.
The turtle reached behind him, pulling out and holding towards his father a plush rabbit, with soft grayish white fur.
"You forgot to kiss Usagi." Leonardo simply stated, as if it was the most important thing in the world.
The rat chuckled. Getting up from the floor, Splinter scooped up his son, and started walking towards the shared bedroom.
Inside, three lumps sat on a mattress, occupying the makeshift bed except for the corner, where a dark blue blanket lay empty.
Splinter placed the near asleep child into the bed, pulling the blanket to his chest. Picking up the rabbit, the rat master gave it a small kiss on the forehead, and gave it to Leonardo, who grabbed it, and rolled into a new position, the rabbit close to the terrapin.
Splinter smiled. Children.
