"So...you
broke it off with Homura?" Tenpou asked, looking around Konzen's
office. It was seemed even barer than the last time Tenpou had
visited.
"He was getting weird. He kept going on about some
ex-girlfriend of his and creating a new Heaven and Earth, blah blah
blah. He kept picking me flowers, too. What am I, some girl?
Bastard."
That's what was missing, the flowers. Konzen used to
keep flowers in his office.
"I thought you liked those flowers,"
Tenpou said. "They made your office more colourful."
"Shut
the fuck up, Tenpou. Homura was crazy."
"I thought you liked
crazy, too. You certainly didn't mind me."
"You're
different. Haven't I told you to shut the fuck up yet?" Konzen
growled, stamping a document a little too hard. "Now he's
alternating between moping around in that stupid field of flowers and
stalking me."
"Well-"
"Stupid fucker. You know what he
said when I dumped him? He said he'd wait five hundred years just
to see me. Freak."
"...most people would find that romantic,
Konzen."
"Not me. It's fucking creepy, that's what it is,"
Konzen said.
"Oh, you're just hard to please. I would know,"
Tenpou said playfully, grinning.
"Didn't I tell you to shut
the fuck up?"
"Maybe you should go out and meet some people.
Try a little socialization, perhaps."
"You're one to talk.
All you ever do is sit in your library and read about Earth and war,
you morbid bastard," Konzen snapped, slamming his stamp onto
another document and splattering ink all over it.
"Well, that's
because I don't need to socialize."
"That's right,
your little boy-toy general entertains you, doesn't he?" Konzen
sneered.
"I have no idea what you're talking about," Tenpou
said mildly, smiling.
"Don't you give me that. Everyone in
Heaven knows what's going on between you two," Konzen told
him.
"I assumed it was public knowledge that he was
transferred."
"Damn it, Tenpou, I am not in the mood
for-"
"Konzen Douji-sama!"
A messenger burst into the
room, kneeling on the floor.
"What?" Konzen snarled.
The shaking messenger remained kneeling.
"I am so sorry for my
interruption, my lord, but it would appear that Egan has returned
from the Lower World, and Kanzeon Bosatsu-sama demands your
presence!"
"Now?!"
"Y-yes, my lord! Se said, and
I quote, 'tell that nephew of mine to get his tight little ass in
here.'" The messenger began to positively quake.
"God damn
it!" Konzen shouted, standing up. "What does that old hag want
this time..."
"I guess I should leave," said Tenpou. "If I
leave Kenren alone for too long, he starts drawing pornography in my
books."
"Whatever," Konzen muttered, stomping out of his
office, following the apologetic messenger.
Tenpou sighed.
"I
preferred this office when it had flowers in it."
