There aren't enough Yukine Yato fluffy stories. So here you go! I apologize for my poor writing – English is not my native language.
Yato woke up to excessive heat. He wasn't suprised though – his covers were pulled up to his chin. He instantly tossed them aside. But wait... It was winter, and Kofuku's attic wasn't the warmest place on the Earth. After a while, when his brain was done with its everyday warm-up exercises, he noticed a boy that was literally sticking to him like a jelly. No wonder it was too hot.
"Lol, Yukine, what are you doing here?" he asked while giving him a confused look. The wave of affection coming from his usually distanced shinki was the last thing he expected.
"What?" mumbled Yuki. His eyes were only slightly opened, like those of an old, lazy cat watching its master from the bookshelf it always sleeps on.
"Why are you so affectionate all of sudden? I thought that I was stinky, annoying, poor god."
"Huh? Of course you are. And hey, what are you doing in my bed, stupid?! You are so old, yet you force yourself into my bed?! Or maybe it's not Daikoku but you who likes children?! You perv!"
Yato was shocked. Oh god. Did he really sneaked into Yukine's bed while still sleeping and then claimed that it's his own? He couldn't believe it, so he looked around the room. "Hey, wake up! It's my bed, you brat!"
"Huh? But it's clearly... Oh. It's your bed... Oops. I... I somehow must have rolled here..."
"Rolled, huh? And you rolled across the floor? From your bed, which is 2 meters away, you rolled into mine and just started clinging to me? And you somehow got under my covers?"
"Uh, yes. I wouldn't be here otherwise, would I?"
"Yukine..." The God of Tracksuits sighed. "You know that as my shinki you can't deceive me, right?"
"Dumbass." The boy gulped loudly. "Just stop. Stop already, okay?"
"Yu-ki-ne," syllabified Yato. "Don't be so shy!" He couldn't help – he just had to tease him a little when he was defenseless like that. He wrapped an arm around his shinki and pulled him down onto the soft pillows. "Did something happen?"
Yukine stayed quiet, and surprisingly didn't try to free himself from Yato's hold. After a while he decided to tell his master what was bothering him. "The lights went out at night."
So that's it. That kid and his fear of the darkness... He couldn't sleep without a night-light. Street lamps also were out so they couldn't provide any light.
"I suppose I'm not as good as your beloved 12 watt, but you are welcome to stay here as long as you want." After saying that Yato yawned widely, failing to properly cover his mouth with a palm.
"No, that's... okay. Thanks," whispered Yukine.
"So you actually can be grateful sometimes, huh?" commented the god.
Yukine was ready to argue, but Yato silenced him with a gesture.
"Just go to sleep. I don't want you to be a zombie tomorrow. Good night."
Yukine could feel his master's arms embracing him. He shyly returned the hug.
And for some reason, for the first time in his life he was happy that the lights went out.
