I heard them before I saw them, their steady heartbeats, the soft click of their shoes, the rustle of their clothes. An eerie silence seemed to hover above whenever they were around, a black aura took over. The Cullen's could sense them, I could tell from their now stiff postures, how their honey eyes had darkened a shade. No one else seemed aware; no one else seemed to sense the danger coming towards us. But I did, I knew what was coming…always had.

They came through the Café doors, looked harmless enough, but take a look into their eyes and you'd know there was nothing safe about them. Icy blue- they seemed to be looking into your soul. The one in the middle, the man, he looked towards out table and cocked an eyebrow at me. I narrowed my eyes- a warning. A chuckle escaped his lips, he shrugged.

The blond haired woman next to him cocked her head to the side, looked me up and down and smiled wickedly, "Isabella." I stiffened; Edward rubbed a soothing hand down my arm, but I shook him off. I glared up at her, clenched my hands into fists. I knew that tone; I knew what was coming next.

I stood up and held my head high; I wouldn't show them how much their presence rattled me. I wouldn't show them how much they had affected me. I had learned my lesson; I wouldn't go back to being that girl. The blond woman stroked my head softly as if I were a pet, one she owned. Maybe before, but not anymore, I was my own person I wouldn't take anymore bullshit.

"Dan, Reina," I greeted them civilly. Reina looked down at me in amusement; her blue eyes twinkled with mirth. Cold arms embraced me into a hug, I didn't return it. She smelled of lavender and rain, a perfume I remembered loving as a girl. I used to play in her dresses and shoes, try on her perfume and lipstick. I had wanted to be just like her, beautiful and enchanting. One day I dropped juice on her white dress, and she found out... it was the last time I played dress up.

"My dear girl," she cooed, "oh how you've grown." It had been four years, I was twenty now, not the naive sixteen year old girl who she had once known.

Edward came up from behind me, grasping my hand in his and smiled cautiously at the both of them. Reina examined him for minute, like a predator does to their prey. Her eyes hardened at our entwined fingers, her fingers digging into her palm. She didn't like her toys to be touched…

"I'll see you soon Isabella," it was a command. I didn't reply, instead walking back to the booth that Edward, his family, and I had been earlier occupying. I took a deep breath before relaxing back into my seat and taking a sip of tea.

"Who was that," Alice asked, her eyes still watching them as they left the café.

Who were they...?

The older woman circled around me in the large foyer, her smooth pale hands clasped behind her. She examined me, her icy blue eyes staring daggers at me; glasses perched on her nose. Grabbing a fistful of my hair she snorted in disgust, and yanked hard smiling when a cry of pain escaped my lips. She walked back gracefully to the leather chairs placed in front of the fireplace and took a seat.

"You will be called… Isabella."

"No one, not anymore"
