Dearest Severus,

I could not begin to tell you how much I really love you. Even in the confines of this ugly war, such things called love still bloom. Call me a sentimental fool, but it is true.

We have spent lots of time together, as only lovers would, and my love for you just grows deeper and deeper everyday. I cannot bear to think what would happen if this gruesome combat between darkness and light will drive us apart.

Severus, if ever I don't survive, I want you to know that I will always carry my love for you here in my heart.

You are my past, present and future. The days we spent in each others arms will forever remain the best days of my life.

I love you.

Hermione

Princess,

You have brought me delight when everything that surrounded me was dark. You opened my heart to love again.

Dear one, I am an old man, and you are still a young lady. If ever I die, I want you to date again, and eventually marry. I know this is an impossible feat for you, but if your really love me, then you will learn to set me free.

I love you, my Hermione. I always have. There is no one in this world I could ever replace you with. You are my heart's priceless treasure.

Princess, I want you to have all my possessions if I ever move into the Underworld. It is my only wish that you live in prosperity.

Goodbye, my love. I am yours, forever.

Severus

Sad to say, the two lovers died in the midst of the battle. Hermione had given up her life so that Harry could deliver the final blow, and Severus had passed away from the after-effects of the Cruciatus Curse a while after.

The letters were found in their trunks when Minerva, Harry, Ron and Ginny packed their belongings.

It touched the heart of all their friends, to know that such strong love blossomed in the midst of a raging battle.

And in Harry's eulogy, he quoted, "When we love, it isn't because the person is perfect, it's because we learn to see an imperfect person perfectly."

Both were buried in front of the Hogwarts Lake, and were remembered as the greatest war heroes.

Here lies:

Lord Voldemort, for love was one thing

the Dark Lord never had.

"True love is not how you forgive, but how you forget,

not what you see but what you feel, not how you listen

but how you understand, and not how you let go

but how you hold on."
