Well, this is my first fanfiction, hope you guys like it. Not really much of a plot, but I enjoyed writing it. This takes place shortly after Eve is rescued by Sven and Train.

Black Cat is the property of Mr. Kentaro Yabuki

Boxing

As Train descended the stairs, he felt something in his chest, something big-and it was coming up, fast. With lightning fast reflexes, he…covered his mouth as he let forth a tremendous yawn. What time was it, anyway? He looked towards the nearest clock: one in the afternoon. Well, at least he hadn't slept through the entire day this time. He turned a corner and entered the living room to find Eve, sitting on the couch reading her newest book, A Path Rewinding. He wondered just how she could stand reading such enormous, complicated novels; he couldn't even get through a pamphlet without getting bored.

"G'morning, Princess," Train said, stifling another yawn.

"Good afternoon," she replied, not bothering to look up from her book.

"Eh, close enough. Where's Sven?" Train asked as he plopped into an empty cushion next to Eve and flipped on the television. He could usually hear Sven in the hideout, flipping through a newspaper or working on another of his gadgets.

"He went out to buy some things," Eve replied. Of course, knowing Sven, "things" probably meant cigarettes. Train wondered about that too, but decided against continuing that train of thought-he didn't feel like any contemplations at this point. He started flicking through the channels, seeing what was on.

"What's that?" Eve asked, curiosity breaking thorough her normally monotone voice as Train hesitated on one station for a second longer than usual.

"Hmm? Oh, it's boxing. A sport where two guys beat the crap out of each other."

"A sport? So it's real?" she asked, staring at the scene in front of her. Two large men were duking it out on the screen, neither one backing down.

"Yep," he said as he changed the channel, not interested in boxing. "Why, you want to watch it?" he teased, getting in the young girl's face.

"No," Eve replied quickly, bringing her book back up. Why would anyone want to watch two guys beat each other up? How insipid.

"C'mon, you know you want to. I can see it in your eyes!" Train said, a huge grin forming on his face as he realized that he had found something new with which he could bug Eve. "They're screaming, 'Oh please, let's watch it!'"

"Eyes cannot speak."

"Well, yeah, but…it's a figure of speech…oh, forget it, I'm grabbing some milk."
