Basically Thalia's perspective on Percy and Annabeth's relationship this chapter. More oneshots will come. While my other oneshots have been focusing on Thuke, these will have every character under the sun reacting with one another.

The first indication Thalia gets is the nickname.

She'd gathered immediately that the two were close. They moved together a way that was only possible after spending days on the road, pulling through near-death experiences together. Their minds were tuned into the same frequencies, although she was smarter. He could guess her thoughts sometimes; something Thalia hadn't thought was possible. He wasn't exactly particularly bright but somehow he clicked with her in a way no one else could. And she trusted him; it was all in her eyes. The way her normally tense shoulders loosened whenever he was around. She could relax her guard and trusted him to pick up the slack. So long as they were together. But then she could say those things about her and Grover too as well as Luke…well, she use to be able to say that about Luke anyways. But it was really the nickname that gave her away.

"Seaweed Brain." Annabeth rolls her eyes.

Thalia cocks a brow the moment it leaves Annabeth's lips. Said in the same tone Thalia used whenever she called Luke a dufus. With no negative fire, maybe a little bit of annoyance but always with an undertone of something she can't quite name. When he retorts "Wise Girl" back to her, Thalia suspects it's mutual.

A little gush of jealousy comes to her unbidden and she quells the feeling immediately. Annabeth deserves to be happy and Thalia should be happy for her. But even still, a treacherous hungry part of her mind spites them. They can still have their happy ending if they're lucky. Unlike her and Luke… And of course she's a little envious of him. He's her best friend and pillar of support now, taking over the void Thalia and Luke use to fill. Sure Annabeth still loves her but Thalia's not her everything anymore and she can't help but be a little jealous. When you're use to someone looking up to you the way Annabeth had, like the sun rose and fell with Thalia in Annabeth's eyes, it's understandable to be a little jealous.

And Thalia wants to make sure he really deserves it. Deserves to be the center of her universe. And more importantly, that he won't let her fall. That he won't break Annabeth's heart. So after that day she can't help but watch him, trying to really figure out if he's worthy of her baby sister.

Obviously I used a little smidgen of my version of Thuke here but it can be considered perfectly cannon.

Until next time,
