A/N: Short, sweet and to the point. Also, they're married?
Why can't I write anything at least remotely lengthy regarding these two?! Jeez!!!
Kallen Stadtfeld let out a tired grunt as she kicked open the door into the living room. It was almost 12 p.m., and the entire house was engulfed in darkness. However, Kallen could have cared less about something like the time, since the terrible aches and pains her entire body felt were a much more important matter at hand.
She had been working extra-hard all day, especially with her troublesome boss berating her for every single thing any time he had the chance, and now that she had finally gotten home, she wanted nothing more than to rest.
Tossing off most of her work attire without a care, abandoning them in wrinkled clumps on the floor, Kallen collapsed onto the couch and sighed deeply.
'God...it feels good to finally be home...' she thought.
Raising her head, she looked around and found the room to be quite empty. 'C.C. must have already gone to bed...I suppose I should head up there too...let her know that I'm home and all...' Kallen figured.
Standing up, despite how badly she would have rather just have laid on the couch for the rest of the night, Kallen passed through the kitchen on her way to the stairs. As she did, she caught notice of something rather unusual: a single slice of pizza was left sitting out on the table, with a small note-card next to it.
Picking up the card, Kallen smirked to herself as she read it: 'I know I usually eat all the pizza, but I decided to save a slice for you, to make up for all those times I didn't. By the way, the cat was the one who tore open the bag of cookies in the pantry, not me. Hope you had a nice day at work, too, Kalley! -Love, C.C.' A small, poorly-drawn chibi version of C.C. had been sketched at the bottom right side of the card. It was apparently waving at her, with a tiny pink heart over its head.
Kallen chuckled to herself. 'Oh, you're just so adorable sometimes, C.C...you really are...'
Kallen picked up the pizza slice in her hands, and immediately figured it was best to just toss it out. It was too cold to even be worth eating anymore, but...it was the thought that counts.
"I should repay her kindness...with some 'kindness' of my own...heh heh..." Kallen snickered to herself, unbuttoning her shirt as she climbed the staircase...
