Well I noticed that there were no Hana X Shamal parings, and I though it wouldn't be a bad idea to write one so here goes nothing, btw it is set after she has graduated and is on an internship as a doctor.

'I had a good time,' Hana smiled tightening her grip on Shamal's hand, 'did you?'

He glanced at her allowing his eyes to play over her lips, 'Of coarse I did,' he turned as they reached the patio and glanced down at her smiling handsomely, 'after all, I was with you.'

She chuckled, amused at his undying charm, 'I'm sure you have enjoyed dates before,' her brow arched mockingly.

Shamal paused bemused, she was the first woman who could throw off his train of thought, 'But with you it is… different,' he kicked himself internally, noting how stupid it sounded as he said it.

She cocked her head to the side mockingly, 'Something wrong?'

His brows knitted in response.

'You are usually a lot smoother, and somewhat witty when you speak.'

He jaw dropped slightly, she really was different. Refreshing! A species of female he had never encountered before, she intrigued him.

'Are you okay there?' she asked again lifting a hand to click his mouth shut.

He smiled, 'You are a rather interesting lady, you know.'

'Was that a pick up line?'

'None I've ever used before,' he chuckled folding his arms across his chest and propping against the door post.

'I'd hope not!' she let out a soft sarcastic laugh, 'It was terrible! What? Have you run out of ideas?'

He shook his head, watching her lips again, he had no idea why he did it, but there was just something about the way she pronounced her words, the way she formed her vowels, and the way they would split in a small smile when ever she finished a sentence.

'What are you staring at huh?' he finally heard a sentence she spoke.

'You.' he smirked expecting her to blush, though she didn't.

'And why is that?' she folded her arms across her chest, taking a demanding step toward him.

He glanced down at her attempt to look menacing, it amused him to say the least, though if he hadn't known her it would have almost worked. His lips parted, but before he could speak she placed her index finger across them.

'If you are about to splutter some corny, over used, soap opera-ish, romantic garbage, don't even bother.'

He stared at her for a few silent seconds, then threw his head back and laughed.

'And what, may I ask, is so funny?' she poked a damning finger at his nose.

'You are!' he blurted, then quickly decided to reword his sentence, 'I mean… that is what I like about you! You are…' he could quite find the word, 'invigorating!' she arched a brow, causing him to recoil slightly, 'like… raw energy…' he tried to explain.

'Raw energy,' she asked in a blank monotone.

'Yes!' the doctor rubbed the back of his neck feeling uncertain in front of a female for the first time in decades, 'You - you are like… like…' he bit his lip.

'Like?' she urged him on her eyes gleaming with curiosity.

'Like jumping into an erupting volcano!' he blurted, his stomach churning at how uncoordinated he had become.

She blinked slowly, unsure of whether he was serious, or if he was being humorous, but after he continued staring at her with a desperate look in his eyes, she concluded he was, in fact, serious, 'What?'

'I mean…' he sighed, hating how pathetic he was sure he would sound after this, 'you are so… natural, so real.' he glanced at her face then dropped his gaze smiling, 'So many people out there are just cold hard plastic, just wanting to see what they can get from you. You on the other hand,' he chuckled raising a hand to her cheek,' you have flesh, you are alive and vivacious! And being around you makes me feel… refreshed, alive… steamy even,' he mumbled the last part, noting a odd heat rising to his collar.

'Really?' she laughed the word, poking him in his chest, 'I have to admit, that was original.'

There he went again, watching her lips form each word, he felt a distant feeling returning, he had blotted this feeling out years ago, life was easier with out it, but for some unknown, but not unwelcome, reason, this little intern, had the perfect skill of lassoing this discarded emotion, hog tying it, and dragging it back into his life, kicking and screaming.

'Shamal?' she glanced up at him, noting that he had failed to remove his hand from her cheek.

He smiled, feeling warm inside as her lips gracefully allowed his name to slip through them. This was his moment, he leaned closer to her closing his eyes slowly. He had no idea how many times he had done this before, or with how many women, but this time it felt different, he felt like an amateur, a little boy confessing to his first crush. In essence it was his first, the first female he was not just kissing for physical pleasure, but also for emotional solace, his heart seemed to stop at the moment he felt slight pressure on his lips, however something was wrong, he paused perplexed, and slowly eased his eyes open.

Hana was casually staring back at him, he face less than an inch away, with two fingers on his lips, preventing him from getting any closer, 'I told you before mister,' she stated mater-of-factly, 'I am not going to kiss you.'

Shamal stared at her, wild with confusion… and shame, it was then he felt a unfamiliar stinging in his cheeks and he backed away placing a hand over his mouth, his eyes wide with shock.

'I'm sorry Doc, I really do like you, maybe even more than a friend, but I am not going to kiss you, then I would be like one of those plastic people you not long referred to,' she said her face solemn, 'I don't mean to upset you, but let us continue to get to know each other, with out any physical influence… that way I would be sure you really see something different in me,' she summed up with a quick hug and turned to unlock her front door, 'Good night,' she mumbled before closing it leaving him dumbstruck, a trembling hand still over his lower face.

She… she is… remarkable!

He strolled down to his bike, mounting it slowly, and glanced back at the house one more time. With a strained sigh he struck the ignition pulling off slowly.

Within ten minutes he was at home, meandering up the drive way, his bike in tow. After securing it in his garage, he mad his way inside and flopped on his couch.

I wonder how loudly she is laughing at me right now, he thought miserably. What he didn't know, however, was that Hana was in the same position she had assumed before he had roared away on his Kawasaki, her back to the door, knees drawn up to her chest in a slumped sitting position, she had hardly been able to stop trembling, and the blush across her cheeks still persisted. To become a doctor she had to learn to hold back her true feelings, hide a blush, quell a shudder, but Shamal… he had made it difficult, and if she had not shut the door at that moment, she was sure he would had seen her in this ridiculous state.

Though several miles apart, they both sighed heavily, in perfect unison, inwardly wishing the other would be willing to take time out for another date.
