Knuckles' End
Knuckles got up from his seat on the staircase leading up to the Master Emerald shrine, as he heard a crash behind him. Muttering a curious "What the...?" He saw a blue, translucent humanoid figure, with two large green eyes and what looked to be a brain floating inside its head. It appeared to be made out of water. Blue water.
"What's going on here?" enquired Knuckles. He took a glance behind the figure, and saw the Master Emerald lying in pieces. "Something's happened to the Master Emerald!" His eyes trailed back to the figure. "Who are you? Did you do this? Oh, I'll get you for this!" Knuckles threw a dash punch. And missed. The figure leapt as Knuckles flew into the position it was a second before. It landed on Knuckles' head, the two footed stomp shooting him backwards and fracturing his skull in the process. Knuckles' tumbled down the staircase landing head first and breaking his neck, then bouncing of the steps repeatedly , going down, snapping his arms and legs like twigs as they bent in awkward directions, cracking a few ribs when landing on his front, and crushing a couple of odd bones here and there as he finished his descent. The result was a battered, bleeding carcass, eyes unfocused, splinters of bone sticking out of his limbs. Not that he felt it anyway. He'd died the moment his neck snapped on the first step.
