If you make it to the end I'll explain this particular bit of insanity.
Disclaimer: I don't own anything in here. Nor the strange box that inspired it. Nor to I intend to offend anyone by anything in here.
The Tardis was being particularly obstinate this time. Rose was gripping the rail for her life as the Doctor attempted to fix whatever the problem was. If you define fix as hitting random parts of the console with a hammer.
"Doctor, what the bloody heck is goin' on?" Rose shouted over the din.
"No idea really," the Doctor admitted. "It seems like the Tardis is having trouble getting somewhere."
"Where is it-sorry-she trying to go?"
"No idea!"
Finally they stopped.
"Well, then," the Doctor declared. "Shall we take a look?"
They opened the door. Outside was…Nothing. Just an endless blackness. Ok, that wasn't entirely true. There was a tiny trail of dust left but that was all.
For once, the Doctor really didn't seem to know what to say.
"What-what is it?" Rose asked, stunned.
"I don't believe it," the Doctor said. "It's the very end of the universe!"
"The end of the universe?"
"Yes, that dust is the last bit of matter, aside from us."
The dust suddenly vanished.
"And now there's nothing but time left," the Doctor said in awe.
Suddenly that maniacal grin was back.
"You know there's this little rumour, sort of a fairytale really, that there's a great message at the end of the universe, right before time itself ends. Something that explains all of creation."
"And no one's seen this before?"
"Well, Time Lord rules forbid anyone from coming this far forward in time. But…since we're here, we might as well see."
Suddenly words appeared in the blackness and scrolled by like credits in a movie only much faster. Waaaaaaaaaaaay faster. Rose and the Doctor tried to read them but a moment later they were gone.
"That's a shame," Rose said. "It might have cleared up a lot of controversy."
"Hush, here it comes."
Suddenly words appeared and stayed there. The great message at the end of the universe. It read…
Label other end.
Then the words vanished altogether.
"Well, that was a bit of a letdown," the Doctor said.
"Label other end? What's that supposed to mean?"
"Hm..Aha! Rose, what would be the other end of the end of time and space?"
"The beginning, I suppose."
"Exactly! Come on!"
Now they were at the beginning of the universe, watching as everything was made. Suddenly words appeared again.
Label other end.
"What the bloody-" the Doctor began.
"Sorry for misprint," some ominous voice said.
"That might explain a lot."
Right, I'm sure you were wanting an explamation for this. Well, my friend (whom I share a joint account with, The Lunatics) and I were at a lock in. Therefore we were sugar high at two in the morning. That was when I saw a box with an interesting label. So I read it out loud. Label other end. So we laughed and discussed it and came up with this little insanity.
