Hey Guys!

Unfortunately I do not own the Fruits Basket characters. Only a few O.C.s

But I hope you enjoy the story.

I decided to add a new member to the Zodiac: the peacock.

Warning: This is a soon to be Yaoi between Hatsuharu Sohma and my O.C. Takumi. If you do not agree with the Yaoi love, then don't read. I made changes in terms of, Kiku is no longer going to appear in the story. And I made some changes to the first chapter.

My O.C. Takumi is deaf. So there will probably have little or no speech from this character. If it says that Takumi has 'gestured',' motioned',' signed', or even 'replies' just remember this tidbit!

So bare with me!

- The Ending Sea

Once there was a god who lived all alone and he was very lonely became humans avoided him.

One day, a cat came up to him and became his friend; later the cat introduced the god to his friend, the peacock. And the god was no longer sad.

The god realized what a happy thing it was to have friends, he sent out invitations to the animals for a banquet at his home, the next day.

The mischievous rat told his neighbors, the cat and the peacock, that the banquet was the day after tomorrow.

All the animals lined up for the banquet, the ox first.

However, the rat could not stand this and hopped on the ox's back; he was so light that the ox had never noticed till the rat hopped off the ox's back and greeted the god first.

For those who came (The Rat, The Ox, The Rabbit, The Dragon, The Snake, The Horse, The Sheep, The Monkey, The Rooster, The Dog, and The Boar) he held an everlasting banquet and they were happy.

All except for the cat and the peacock, who was at home, sleeping and dreaming for a banquet that had already come to pass.

The god was angry but upon the cat being his first friend and the peacock being so beautiful, the god decided to give them a second chance.

And all were happy.

One day, the cat did not get up and said that it was time for it to die.

But the god touched a cup and had the cat drink from it and said that the drink would make sure that they would all meet again in the next life; hearing that the other animals drank too and were content.

The cat alone cried, saying that this one life was better than twisting for all eternity. The god grew angry and the other animals feeling betrayed turned their backs on him.

However, the peacock who was the cat's brother and had known the feline for all of its' life, shook its head in pity.

In front of the cat's dead body, the peacock disowned the god, refusing to acknowledge it had ever existed The peacock would walk away, forever with its' back to the god.

One by one, the animals died and the god was left alone, but he was comforted with the knowledge that they would all meet again, and again.

And finally he died too.

So they were reborn, again and again, and always had feasts together, except for the cat who hasn't wished for this new life and the peacock for its loyalty to the cat.

The blond smiled softly as he happened upon his wife who was dozing against the Osada Family tree. A storybook laid, forgotten on the grass nearby.

He crouched down and brushed a brown lock behind her ear, giving her forehead a gentle kiss. Their son's books always seemed to put his wife to sleep after a long day of play

He glanced around the empty garden, making note of the lonely, brown kimono only few feet away. He swallowed back the panic as a few leaves began to fall, rather quickly, and a dull pat, pat, pat on the bark of the tree, which caused the father to look up with a knowing smile.

There was no real harm from the boy climbing the trees. It actually tired the boy more so after a couple of hours of climbing. But he could just hear his wife scolding him, telling him that boys belonged on the ground and not in trees.

Seiichi leaned forward and knocked a fist against the trunk, signaling that the boy should make his way back to ground.

The boy with a mop of blonde curls gave a silent huff as he shimmied down the tree, his body naked as the day he was born. The blond squirmed under his father's gaze.

"And how did this happen?"

"I'm sorry..."

"It's can't help what happens." Seiichi smiled softly and wrapped the kimono around the seven-year-old who shuffled awkwardly with his head hung low.

"It's nothing to be ashamed of. Too many times do we humans get to thinking we need to hate what makes us different."

The kid stood there, in his normal quiet, picking at the chapped skin of his lip, unsure of how to ask . Why did this only happen to him? He frowned as his blue orbs filled with tears before his father gathered him into strong arms. He could only think of how strained his mother's hug had felt.
