The basic idea for this story has been simmering in my head for quite a while. It is loosely based off of the DS game Pokémon Platinum and takes place in the Sinnoh region. This is my first fanfic.
"Keith! You need to get up!" Keith's mom called up from downstairs. "It's 9:30 – you have been in bed long enough!"
Keith slowly sat up and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. He looked at the clock. His mom was right: he needed to get up. –name- slowly stood up and walked over to his dresser. He grabbed a pair of jeans, a white shirt with a pokeball icon on it, and a blue sweatshirt. Putting the clothes on, he grabbed a remote from his dresser and turned the TV on his wall on. Displayed on the screen was some text:
"'Pokemon are by our side, always. I hope you will understand the meaning of those words'
That was the comment left by Prof. Rowan, who has returned to Sinnoh from the Kanto region."
Keith looked at the screen for a few seconds, then turned it off and headed downstairs. His mom looked up from her coordinator's magazine as he headed towards the door.
"Where are you going?" She asked him.
"A walk around town." He replied.
I don't know what to do with that kid his mother thought to herself as he walked out the door.
Once Keith figured his mother could no longer see him, he turned and headed for the forested area behind his house. About 20 yards in was a flat stump. Some of the surrounding trees had rather odd burn marks on them. Keith walked to the stump, sat with his legs crossed, and started his meditations.
*Flashback*
8-year-old Keith clutched his mother's hand tightly as they both ran through the forest, away from the scary looking people with the weird outfits and large pokémon. Keith tripped over a large root sticking out of the ground and his hand tore out from his mother's grasp. She ran for a few seconds, then noticed that Keith was missing, and looked back.
Keith was sitting on the ground, clutching his scraped knee with tears in his eyes. His mom went back to comfort him, but before she could get very far she saw him stand up with a pokémon sitting on his shoulder. Looking closer, she could see that it was the legendary pokémon Mew. Mew looked up at her questioningly. Hoping she understood right, she nodded. A split second later, they disappeared. She knew where they had gone: The Tree of Beginning.
Let me know what you think in the reviews. I will do my best to answer questions you ask, as long as they don't give away what is going to happen. I don't know when I will upload again, but I will do it as soon as I can.
