It was weird. No matter how much he mentally told himself that everything was going to be fine, that his friends assured him that everything is fine… somehow, it doesn't.

It had been months now since they've safely made home together… but he still couldn't sleep properly. Maybe it didn't help the dreams never left him.

The visions remained the same… he saw the door, a lock, the light enshrouded in darkness. He wasn't sure if these visions were his memories now from his experiences trapped in the other door of Kingdom Hearts… or the memories of that other man, who allowed himself to be destroyed by the darkness, in his desperation to find his own past. Who later inadvertently became a part of himself. He considered that he was not so different from that other man, he was also just as obsessed into achieving anything his mind set into, not heeding to the implications of his choices, not letting himself pause and reconsider what he may be doing outright wrong.

He was fortunate that Sora and Kairi loved him dearly, and no matter the sins he committed in his past against them, they still accepted him with all their heart. He wished he was that forgiving to himself. Ever since Xehanort took control, he had blame himself on everything that has happened and took such drastic measures to find redemption and self-reproach, even willing to never to return home, even not being Sora's friend anymore.

Although they didn't say it, he could tell the other two was worried for him. He was always the confident type, the type of guy who takes control of the situation at hand and forge ahead in his path. He never questioned himself… until that darkness.

The darkness was quiet for the most part, and he was quite relieved by this, in a way. But it was still there inside him. He feared it at first, and fought so hard to defeat and to eventually master it. But after Ansem's machine diminished most of that darkness that allowed him to return to his original form, he could still wield dark energy from his hands at will. And even though his friends would not be happy if they ever find this out, he would practice with this ability in private and see if he can push himself to the limit. He rationalized that he should at least be aware of the strength that he has, so he wouldn't rely on it too much.

He felt slightly detached with his hometown though, and it wasn't necessarily because of his feelings of imprisonment years before. Naturally, he and his friends were grounded by their respective families for being gone for such a long period of time with no explanation whatsoever. But really, how could one tell their parents of their fantastic tales of them traveling in other worlds wielding magical weapons and save the cosmos from the darkness without sounding a bit ludicrous?

He saw so many things, went to so many places, learned many things. And he never regretted it. Well, he corrected himself, not really.

But in the end they were together, safe and sound. And that's all that really matters. He firmly believed that. Regardless of the peace in himself here, it didn't change his view on this place. It was good to be home, true, but it's still so downright boring.

So when adventure would be knocking on his door again… he would definitely be the first one to jump for that opportunity. And this time he won't be alone… he would be with his two closest friends. Travelling the world just like what they had planned and dreamed of.
