She definitely did not like horses, Sophie had decided. They were big and heavy and dangerous and not even a very comfortable ride. Closing her eyes, she asked herself yet again how she had ever permitted herself to be talked into this method of travel. She didn't mind walking the distance so much; anything to be rid of this blasted beast...
"Hold on tightly, Sophie," Howl cautioned from his seat in front of her, holding the reins that controlled the horse and not looking back at her as he spoke.
Oh yes, this was how she had been talked into it, she recalled, leaning forward a little more and squeezing Howl a bit tighter with her arms wrapped around him, resting the side of her head contentedly against his back.
