"Look, Sothe, I'm sorry!"

The red-heads companion crossed his arms but kept quiet

"I didn't mean to do it.. How was I supposed to know there was a bees nest in those bushes?"

The thief continued to sit there, a look of pure annoyance on his young face.

The two boys were now sitting in front of Rhy's tent, covered from head to toe in bee stings. Tormod had convinced himself that setting the nearest bush on fire would be a great way to practice his newest spell. Sothe tagged along, hoping to stop the mage and make sure he didn't hurt himself…. Again.

The thief mentally cursed himself for following Tormod. Incredibly, (Or not) somehow he had always gotten wrapped up in whatever the redhead's latest scheme was. Whether it was his decision to follow the obnoxious idiot or if he had been dragged into it, things would always end up here, in front of Rhys's big white tent. Always.

Sothe huffed, watching Tormod pick at his cape. He didn't see why he even bothered any more. He couldn't even count the numerous times he had, had to carry the mage to Rhys because of some stupid prank that had gone wrong or vice versa, because Sothe had been trying to stop the idiot from doing the stupid prank. And then Tormod would beg for forgiveness' after a scolding from Maurim and a cold soldier from the thief. But somehow, no matter how angry he had been at the mage he would always just say "Fine." Resulting in another bone crushing hug from the idiot and an "Oh thank you! I swear I'll never do it again." which was usually true because as soon as whatever had happened had blown over the mage would just think of something worse to do. It never failed. Never.

But Sothe knew why he always chose (for lack of a better word) to forgive Tormod. Though he would never admit it, he couldn't stay away from the mage. They had become a pair. Where you saw one, you saw the other. They shared everything. Same tent, same bedroll, same bench, everything. Sothe couldn't imagine how lonely the camp would be without the loud-mouthed obnoxious idiot… His loud-mouthed obnoxious idiot.

Yes, his.

Someone had to make sure he wasn't getting himself into too much trouble… Right?

Sothe glanced at the mage again, this time with the slightest hint of a smile.

Mine.

And just like everything else that as his he would take good care of him, no matter what kind of stupid things he would knowingly, or unknowingly be pulled into. He would always be there trying (and most likely failing) to keep the mage out of trouble. He would always forgive him.

Tormod took a deep breath in preparation for another long drawn out apology

"Fine."

"Huh?"

"I said fine."

"…. Really?"

"…."

Tormod dove at the thief, catching him in another bear hug.

"Oh thank you Sothe! I swear I'll never do it again!"

"I know.."

Always.
