Title: Fancy Clothes
Fandom: Howl's Moving Castle
Pairing: Howl/Sophie
Notes: Installment two in my recent obsession with writing for this movie/pairing (I cannot believe I'm obsessing over het). This one (and the next two actually...) are a bit shorter though, so sorry about that... Also, I know the specifics in this fic about the actual situation are a bit vague. Hopefully it won't bug people too much. If it is and you want an explanation of my reasoning, feel free to email me or something and ask.
"This doesn't suit me at all," Sophie sighed, standing in front of the mirror and looking at herself clothed in an extravagant dress. "I wish I didn't have to wear it."
"You don't have to if you don't want to, Sophie," Howl remarked from where he was leaning in the doorway watching.
She turned to face him. "Don't be silly. I'm already ugly enough, if I just went in my normal plain clothes I'd stand out even more."
Howl straightened up and walked over to her purposefully, taking both of her hands and holding them in front of him. "Don't say that, you're beautiful! You don't need fancy clothes to look wonderful, Sophie."
Blushing slightly, Sophie looked away. "You're just biased," she said dismissively, though she was smiling.
"Well, if I'm biased, it's only because you've captured me with your beauty and pure heart."
"Now you're just speaking in circles, Howl," she said, looking at him again.
"Am I? It doesn't matter. You're beautiful, Sophie," he said again.
Dropping his hand, Sophie turned back to the mirror. "Maybe I'll go in something a little plainer after all."
