Soul and Maka were walking down a sunny street in a town called Aven. On the left side of the street was a beautiful beach. On the right side of the street there were a few houses. On the beach was an old red boxcar and grassy over hanging cliff not far off from a pale gray house.
"Soul doesn't seem like himself today." Maka thought to herself. "I wonder whats bothering him."
They continued to walk down the street sun lit street when they reached their destination. The Meaister and weapon pair were in the town of Aven. Aven was inbetween a forest and the ocean. The street they were on had the ocean on one side and the forest on the other. They two stood in front of the pale gray building that was supposedly abndoned when the people who owned it died. There had been multiple reports of ghost sightings in the building. The DWMA decided to send the pair to make sure there wasn't a kishin on the loose. As the two began to get loser to the door Maka stopped in her tracks glaring at the building.
" Soul do you hear that?" Maka said
" Yeah, just like the reports said, Someone is playing the piano."
The two stood still a little longer staring at the house in the pale light of the moon and stars. When Maka stepped forward to continue she looked back at soul and saw a flash of sadness in his eyes. The sad look disappeared as fast as it came and he began walking to the door. They remained silet as Soul reahed for the door knob not wanting whoever or whatever inside to know of their presence. Soul stared at the door knob for a while before grabbing it. Maka saw the flicker of sadness in his eyes again as he turned the door knob and gently pushed open the door. The music grew louder as they entered the house. The room they entered appeared to be a dining room/ Kithen. The tables and chairs were covered in white sheets. They walked into the kithen to find the sink with dark water in it. Soul and Maka looked at each other in confusion at the sink having water in it.
" Look soul that must be the basement over there, should we check it out?" Maka whispered quietly pointing to an open door with stairs leading into inky blackness.
Soul stared at for awhile and shook his head.
" The music isn't coming from there." Soul whispered back as he turned around.
Maka followed his gaze and landed at a door way with a black sheet hiding what lay behind the opening. For some reason the black doorway disturbed the two, but for different reasons. Soul lifted his hand to point at the black sheet.
" Thats where we need to look." Soul said.
Maka only nodded in agreement. The two walked to the doorway and stood staring at it, The musi was definantly coming from behind the curtain. Sould took a deep breath whih surprised Maka. Maka silently thought to herself " was soul scared?" Soul then reached for the shett and moved it and the two walked into the next room. The rooms sliding doors were open to reveal the green grass and dark sky with its shining stars. The furniture was also covered in white sheets. The pale curtains ruffled against the soft breeze. Infront of the open doors stood a black piano, half covered in yet another white sheet, and a young girl with brown hair in a half ponytail. The girl was the one playing the beautifully sad song and didn't seem to notice their entrance. Her hair flowed gently against the breeze as she played. The two stood at the door way staring at the girl dressed in white playing the sad melody.
