Can't Be Killed

They come at me from all sides. I am surrounded by assorted creatures from all the elemental planes. Imps, Trolls, Beserkers and Golems. There are more than that, but I cannot see them from where I stand. My swords are drawn and ready. They have tasted the blood of these fiends and their kin before. They will taste it again, and again. The first group leaps forth, and I strike. My blades sink deep into their flesh as I slice through them. My magic burns and freezes them. My lightning cracking at their feet makes them hop around.

They thought they had me cornered. It was I who had then as such. More of the beasts jump in to take the place of their fallen comrades. I take them down in quick succession as well. As even more step forth, I chant my spells. My swords leap from my hands and begin acting on their own. Their hunger for more blood far outweighs my own. I ready more spells as I grab my sickle, it's evil hook ready to gut the closest demon.

I have forgotten how long I have danced to this madness. Though I have been told I'm a horrible dancing partner. It maybe because I have no ear for music. Or maybe I just haven't found that special person to join me. Maybe, just maybe, it is because all my partners keep dying before the dance is done.

As I cut down even more of the foul smelling creatures, I start to notice a trend. They keep getting bigger, and meaner than the last group. I smile, as I start to think that maybe I have found one to finish my dance with. Soon a loud and thunderous roar can be heard from the back of the group. Their master seeks to end this quickly it seems. They part the circle to allow him through.

The giant of a demon stand close to five times my own height. His legs like tree trunks and his arms, all four of them, resembled tightly wound cables. I smile again, as he begins his attack. I think he does not understand why I smile. It is not because I have been slaughtering his minions. It is not my ego that makes me believe I can take him, though I can. I smile, because I allow him the first clean hit!

He slashed his saber right through my chest, leaving an ugly mess of blood and bile. He bellows in victory as he brings three more sabers down on my head. My swords were done with their own dance and returned to block the downward blows. A confused look crawls onto his face and I reach up and take hold of my faithful blades once more. The wound to me chest already closing on it's own.

I glare at him now, the smile gone from my face as brimstone flares in my eyes. "Another beast that cannot perform the deed for me it seems. A pity!" I leap forth, knocking his sabers away, and severing one of his arms. "All this time, I have sought one that could bring me to Death's door once more!" I keep me assault up, slashing my blades across his exposed back. "For all of you that I have faced. Beings of pure evil and hatred. None of you have been able to bring me to Death! He has cursed me with immortality, and thus I must do his bidding until he releases me. Even were you to scatter my body to the four corners of the world, I could never be defeated."

I cast a spell, and my swords catch ablaze. "You shall all feel the sweet sting of Death that I so yearn for. Meet him, and tell him that I wll not cease until our agreement is completed! So speaks Chakan! The Forever Man!"
