When I walked into the dorm one calm Wednesday evening, I nearly did a double-take when I found, instead of Parvati, Lavender, or even Ginny who had taken to doing her homework in my dorm, the slightly odd Ravenclaw, Luna Lovegood, sitting calmly on my bed.
I frowned, staring at her. "Luna," I said, almost indignantly. "What are you doing on my bed?"
Luna turned vaguely towards me, smiling. "Oh, hello," she said happily. "Ginny let me in. I was just waiting for her."
I sighed, but couldn't help but smile slightly at Ginny actually letting people into my dorm to wait for her. Walking over to my bedside locker, I took off my heavy backpack and put down the books I was carrying – then, slightly unsure how to act around Luna when it was just the two of us, I sat down next to her on my bed.
Luna beamed at me. "It's nice to see you," she said dreamily, moving up to make space for me. "How are you recently?"
Not breaking eye contact with Luna, I smiled a little. "Well, thank you," I said, quite briskly. "How are you?"
Luna considered. "Good. It's nice to have a friend in Ginny. And you, and Harry, and Ron, and dear old Neville, of course…" She trailed off and looked away into the distance. Luna was certainly something.
"Well, it's nice to have you too," I said, being sincere. It was quite nice to have Luna, when she wasn't going off on one of her tangents about nonexistent and questionable beings.
Luna smiled cheerfully at me, again, but then she looked at me seriously, seeming to have read my mind. "You know, I often wonder why you aren't more curious," she said, looking at me intently.
Indignantly, I got up form the bed, folding my arms as I moved over to my wardrobe to put my shoes away. "I'm very curious, Luna," I said, my voice dignified. "Just maybe not about the things you are."
There was a pause as I started to take off my school shoes, and Luna sat on my bed – but then she spoke. "Are you talking about sexually?" she asked interestedly after a moment.
I nearly fell head first into the wardrobe, and quickly turned around. "No!" I said, half-indignant again. "I… no!"
Luna looked at me with interest. "Oh, alright. I didn't think so." She turned back to the other side of the room, but I couldn't help but feel affronted.
"I am curious," I said, folding my arms as I looked at her. "I could… I don't know, kiss girls and things if I wanted to."
Seeming more than interested now, Luna turned back towards me. "Why don't you?" she asked, staring at me with those protruding blue eyes.
"How do you know I haven't?" I pointed out.
Luna considered. "I don't know," she admitted dreamily. "I just… don't think you have. Would you like to?"
I started a little again, slightly confused by the turn the conversation had now taken. "I… you mean you?" I asked awkwardly.
"Yes," said Luna cheerfully. "Would you like to?"
I was about to shake my head - but then I remembered all of Luna's comments about my lack of curiosity, and, taking a deep breath and holding my chin up, I nodded.
Luna smiled. "Alright," she said easily, and before I knew what was happening, she had stood up, come towards me, and pushed me gently up against the wardrobe, her lips meeting mine and her blonde hair swishing into my face.
I can't say I wasn't enjoying it, but after only a few seconds, I started as I heard someone in the doorway.
Ginny looked at us, and smirked. "I'll leave you two to it, then," she said, sounding inappropriately amused by the whole thing, and left.
A/N – This is… I don't even know. What am I doing with my life? Luna just seems to wander around converting girls to lesbianism in my head. She's such a player. I don't even… Speaking of Luna and lesbianism, I haven't abandoned Suspicions of a Good Heart, I'm still working on it!
