Chapter 1

Kags Pov.

" Why does he do this to me" I asked myself. " He tells me loves me and then he runs to THAT " I said furiously. ' Well not anymore' I thought to myself as I walked through Inuyasha's forest. Everything was quiet, no crickets were chirping, ' This is strange' I thought.

Suddenly a scream echoed in the distance, " What was that" I wondered as I ran through the forest to the source of the sound.

As I broke into the clearing I gasped at what I saw. In front of me stood a ogre youkai, it had a horn sticking out of the right side of its head, yellow eyes that resembled a snakes, and a stench so foul that it gagged you.

But thats not what made me gasp, what made me gasp was what it was holding in its hand. It was a little girl who looked to be around ten.

The beast must have heard my gasp because it looked at me and growled " I sense that you carry the shikon shards, Give them to me" it demanded while stomping towards me.

" Forget it you won't get them" I yelled with determination as I prepared to fire an arrow " And let go of that child".

It started to laugh at me, " You really think that a weak human like you can defeat me". I gave it a devilish smirk and said " Yes I do" and I let go of the arrow and watched as it zipped through the air and hit its target directly in the Ogre's forehead.

I ran towards the falling creature to catch the young girl. When I caught her she clung to me like a life line. I noticed right away who she was, " Hey you're the little girl who travels with Sesshomaru". She looked up at me with tear filled eyes " Uh-huh, Rin got seperated from Lord Sesshomaru when he left to hunt and Master Jaken left too saying Lord Sesshomaru didn't need me anymore" she finished whiled crying,

I hugged her up " Shh sweetie it's okay, I'm sure none of that is true...you know what I bet Sesshomaru is out looking for you right now" I said with a smile. She looked at me with hopeful eyes " You really think so" she asked as she yawned. Smiling " Yes I do think so" I sat down and gathered a bunch of sticks that were on the ground to start a fire.

I reached into my yellow bag that I had thankfully remembered and grabbed the matches to start the fire. Once that was done I opened up some granola bars and handed one to Rin who looked at it with a strange face. " What is it" she asked, I giggled " It's a granola bar, it's a sweet food that you eat" I demonstrated to her as I bit into mine and chewed " See it's food".

Apparently thats all it took because Rin devoured it in less than fifteen seconds. After dinner we began to get ready for bed " Um I only have one sleeping bag with me Rin so you'll have to sleep with me to keep warm, ok?" " Ok" she said as she crawled in with me.

Just as I was about to fall asleep Rin mumbled " Thank you for saving Rin Kagome-chan" " Your welcome Rin" I whispered and with that we fell asleep.
