Tom just stood there with the saddest face he ever wear as he looked down at the died creature in front of him.
The location he was at was so peaceful it almost felt like the perfect place to allow the died to rest here for eternity. It was an open field with tall grass and flowers of all kinds of different colors, shapes and sizes; it felt like the earth grew them here just for the dead creature, like when someone puts flowers on a tombstone.
Anger slowly build up inside him as he clenched his fists, his face turning red.
He was beyond angry and he wanted to scream as loud as he could or hit something with his fists until his knuckles were raw and bleeding.
He was raving with anger and hate; the hate was directed towards himself for causing the death while his anger was towards the world for being so unfair.
Two whole years of searching and what he finds at the end of his mission was a dead body killed by who knows who. It was obvious, someone killed the creature just to rob him of the little treasures he had with him.
He was hoping he would find him alive and well, but fate was cruel that way; no matter how much you wish and work for something, it doesn't main you will always get what you want.
Tom felt so bad about what he did and even though he knew there was no way anyone could be able to blame him for the creatures death, he just felt it was all his fault.
What was he suppose to tell the creature's father now? For years the father had no idea what happened to his only son and Tom couldn't tell him what he found today in this field.
The old creature didn't even know that Tom was on a mission to find his long lost son.
Tom decided there and then that he couldn't tell Najarin he found Afjak, that would be even more cruel than just letting the old Muge think his son lived for years in the past before dying peacefully.
But sadly that wasn't what happened. No, Afjak had went in the past and died the first day there in the most beautiful location Tom as ever been to.
Tom had to go through Kirvak Mound to a time were Dranakis Threshold wasn't destroyed and then go back in time again just so he could transport back to Dranakis Threshold to transport back in time again to search for Afjak. He did that at least once every three days, looking for Afjak in all kinds of locations until today.
Tears began to fall down his face and landed on the dead body.
Tom wiped away the tears with his shirtsleeves, then took a blanket out of his backpack and lead it over Afjak.
"I'm sorry, I couldn't have found you sooner." Tom said, barely over a whisper. "I could have change the past if I wanted to and I so wanted to, but Najarin was right. No one has the right to change what has already been done, no matter how much they want to. I just though may be if I could have found out what happened to you then I could tell Najarin, so he didn't have to worry about what happened to you."
Tom took out his scanner and scanned the location.
Looking at the name, he almost laughed at the irony of it all. The name of the location was Land of Peaceful Souls.
He was now smiling weakly as he said: "I hope this location was given this name for a reason." He looked back down at the covered body. "Don't worry, I won't tell Najarin about what happened to you. You can tell him yourself if that old Muge will ever die."
Tom thought about any other last words to say; he wanted to make sure he said all that he needed to, this was his last time coming here after all.
"Well, I'll leave you to rest. I know we never got to know each other, but I would like to think we would have been great friends." Tom said then transported back to Chaotic.
I have no idea how I came up with this so depressing one-shot. In my head it wasn't this sad I swear.
Happy Valentines Day, everyone! Hope you enjoyed it.
Please leave a review and have a great day :)
