The Chaos Vault
Athena strolled down the Library of Olympus; which had more books than you could ever imagine. It was like stepping into another world that just dumped information onto your face. The bookshelves were more than twenty stories high each, with more than a million books in each one. Yet Athena was able to memorise the contents of almost every single one. She continued moving through the spaces in-between the bookshelves, flicking her finger to whatever book or scroll that caught her eye. The books slid out of their appropriate places and hovered behind her. Although there was one that was one forbidden to be read something that was rumoured to curse who ever laid their eyes in the contents, a scroll more ancient than the primordials. As she thought about it, she passed by its vault that gave her the irresistible urge that would make her open in and take whatever is inside; which was of course was the scroll. She knew it would be unwise to even attempt to open it but it pushed her to the point where she would fade if she didn't open that accursed vault. The feeling was like having a whisper seduce you into doing whatever it wanted. This voice was telling her to open the vault and read it. She took a step towards the glowing vault. It was decorated in colors that a human wouldn't understand and architecture that defied the laws of physics. It wasn't from this world and she knew there was no turning back from what she was about to do. This would scar her for life but she was willing to accept the consequences. Using the knowledge of every single book and scroll that was stored up in her mind she solved the puzzles no human would be able to comprehend. Soon the vault opened. The scroll glowed with a purple hue. Emanating its power and what knowledge it contained. She moved closer to the scroll; shivers went down her spine and her fingers tingled. She smiled even though what might happen after she opens it would be severe she would be willing to accept that. She fingers wrapped around the old scroll. It was made of substances not yet discovered and was as if there was nothing there yet she knew the scroll was there. It seemed to exist between all the dimensions and seemed to exist in all times; as if could affect history by releasing a bit of its power. She opened the scroll carefully, fearing of what was inside. Glowing light poured into the room; the light blinding her sight for a split second. As the light subsided she looked and gasped at what she found. Then she frowned. Her lips pressed together and her anger rising. Inside the scroll it read "Now Hephaestus owes me a new sword."
